Salem, Bend, Eugene, Corvallis, Medford etc. are great communities with well run soccer clubs who serve their families well. And yes some Portland clubs have very good programs too (FC Portland, Lake Oswego/Crossfire...) but the list is short. Happy to have a more unified state league and hopefully a true state cup this year. Let's encourage our kids to work hard and compete with the best. Labeling clubs "top" or "bottom" based on geography or affiliation is sick.

That's why you never hear of a PDX player driving to Eugene/Bend/Salem, etc even to play on a good team. The migration is all one direction for a reason. The Pdx clubs themselves aren't necessarily better but the population is bigger and so they have many more of the top players.

Thought you all shared the same philosophy, ideas, tactics, curriculum, parent organization?
What a joke.
