My point is this is a big mess to switch over. Way more complicated that just doing it and saying deal with it.

It's not they hard to coordinate. Anybody who can walk and chew gum at the same time should be able to figure it out. Players can train in groups that aren't "teams". Some clubs do this all the time as standard procedure.

As always, the same roster that won state. No new players, ever. Even though tryouts are in May, the 2015-16 season doesn't end until after Nationals in July.

We've been to Regionals multiple times and all times added a few players (from the same club) who moved up to the A team at tryouts in May. Believe they just have to be rostered at the same club and there is also some minimum number from the state cup roster that have to go (like 10 or something). Same deal from Regionals to Nationals.

Yes that's true, but rarely is it B teamers moving up that people want to take to Regionals. It's usually the new "stars" that just moved to the club A team. They can't go.

I believe teams can add up to 5 new players if added before the State Cup roster freeze if from another club, because it's considered a transfer. If added after they cannot play in Regional or National Championshops.

Maximum 5 new players to the club can be added as long as they are added to your roster BEFORE state cup freeze date. Also must have at least 9 of the same players on the roster at every level of competition: league, state cup, regionals, nationals.

frankly, it's always been weird to have tryouts before Regionals - at least for the teams that make regionals. Now it's simply going to be a lot messier for those teams. A nice last hurrah though for the teams that make it because they will never be together again. Teams will be extra motivated to win State Cup this year!

New out going soon to be u14 team now has 18 02's only 7 of which are from the team that won. And the 7 03's that won now have 9 new 03 teammates.

Regionals are not till mid/late June so you now have 2 teams that don't qualify to play at regionals. If you keep the roster that did you also have 2 teams missing half their team for that month.

Regional teams will all be from the current system so, as always, you take the roster that won state cup. That's who is supposed to go and it will be a nice last hurrah for that good team that won it but will be split in two. The new pure birth year 2002s&2003 kids can practice with the appropriate new birth year 2002 and 2003 B teams for a month. It will all be ok. I agree it sucks & am against the change to birth year but it's happening so we just have to do the best we can.

Only team this concerns is FC PDX. No one else needs to worry.
