My twin boys, who are very fat, prefer their team to play in the McDonald's parking lot. When they are hungry, and I mean starving, they have access to food. Can the Beaverton mayor change the law to allow them to walk thru the drive thru?

Right now, it is so far to take the additional extra steps inside. I am sure MCDonalds would give him a kickback of 45,000 if he could arrange to have more of the rec teams to use the parking lot. Then, we would all be happy.

You must be really brilliant. Of course, leasing the grass fields plus the turf fields to keep income coming in to THPRD on al large and continuing basis means nothing. Why don't you try to lease a turf field for $7 for one hour and let us know how it turned out. By the way, just because some guy said it was $7 per hour doesn't make it true. Get it?

IBTW it was KATU / Channel 2 News that reported the turf fees were $7 per hour not me. They had access to the use contracts so I'd say that's a pretty solid source. If you know differently please prove it and quote your source rather than your opinion.

You, or your guy, lost the election for mayor of Beaverton. Get over it. THPRD has its own Board of Directors and are not tied in with the city. The Beaverton schools are not supervised by the mayor, either. Guilt by association only applies with pigs, not people. The THPRD directors are also elected. Do you see a trend here? No nut-job vast conspiracy. Don't like that Doyle got money from WS Metros SC in 2009? Then don't have your kid play for the club or vote for Doyle. And why is it your concern that WSM paid him any money? Didn't they decide, and not you, to pay him or not through their Board of Directors? Do tell, what boards positions and affiliations does the mayor have today that create these conflicts in your mind. Be specific and what the conflicts are.

The problem is that they have been going after other clubs, like THUSC and other req leagues to grab full control over THPRD fields. They have abused their connections to affect others. That is the problem.

Better yet, just negotiate with WST or THUSC to get your sorry ass club absorbed so that Portland has one less piss ant club to fighting for field time. If you go on the THPRD website (Fact Sheet), you will see that one of the functions of THPRD is to serve the city of Beaverton. Obviously, the mayor of Beaverton has some influence on THPRD decision. Just do a google on "Beaverton Mayor" and "THPRD?

It is not a matter of not voting for Doyle or not playing for WSM.

The Mayor of Beaverton is a public office. It is a concern to me if he is using his public power (and public resources) to illegally enrich is personal well being. In this case, he is getting a consulting fee from WSM in addition to his >$125K per year. WSM just happens to be a THPRD customer.

Yes, WST and THUSC have a good deal at a reduced rate. They both guarantee year around field rental. Per hour, their cost is lower, but they make up for it by keeping the fields constantly paid for. This is where the cost comes in. If you check, field costs are similar across all the clubs. Go find out... they are all non profits, their tax filings are public record. Put your money where your accusations are.

Oh, and we are talking about Aloha. They may be within the BSD boundaries, but few of them are actually in the taxable THPRD district.

How is WST or THUSC any more in the taxable THPRD district then Aloha?

I would argue that Aloha has more "local" kids in the boundaries then WST or THUSC. These kids come from Aloha High School and Beaverton High School area.

Not sure if that really makes a difference, but I don't see a point in claiming that "few of them are actually in the taxable THPRD district"

The real point is why is it okay for the Mayor to get $50K in consulting fees from an organization that can benefit from his influence.
