Whoa there Francis. Just questioning your logic, which probably happens often. Yes, you DO have a beef (to wit: My point was that I'd like to see teams earning their way to regionals not just "signing up" to be the representative.). That's pretty beefy. It would make Clara happy let's say.

And please, at least tell us which division your daughter's team was in.

It isn't about the state - been there done that. Knock yourselves out. We want to play the best in the region / nation, and those teams won't be found at the end of the OPL Championship run. What is best for your team isn't best for everyones. Win a title (besides THUSC Cup) then have an opinion.

This has become such a common refrain...almost like a party line. What I don't get is if a strong team registers for OYSA, wins through and goes to regionals, it is not their fault the competition was weak, it is the fault of the teams who didnt show up. For all the people who believe their team is ultra competitive, yet knock OYSA as not
being competitive, you wanna fix it, sign up. If you don't sign up then you are even less competitive.

For a second imagine two teams, both same age group, not affiliated with any particular organization.

Team A is a strong team, enters their state championship hoping to go to regionals, and is successful, playing through some teams clearly not at their level

Team B is also a strong team, but shies from entering the same championship because it is not "competitive enough". Result is they play a different championship. This pool has attracted many good teams, but it leads nowhere.

Now which team is more competitive, I would argue A, because they are not hiding from competition, they are not prejudging competition as worthy or unworthy. They have their focus on the road ahead. Being competitive is based on action, not inaction, it is based on being courageous enough to embrace whatever situation presents itself, and overcome it.

This comment makes absolutely no sense at all and it assumes that we are all complete morons who know nothing about the teams entered. Typical OYSA supporter, who is so rec focused that they have absolutely no grasp of competitive soccer. Everyone knows who the comp is. It has nothing to do with worthiness. Surprised ths oysa spin machine is still going. Deadline is fast approaching. Can't you just go out gracefully?............yeah that's probably a stretch.

I look at the OPL website and it appears that most WSM teams are now signed up for OPL, nothing on OYSA.
