Ouch! I am not sure I will ever recover from this one. I just got called "dumb"....That's it......I'm never coming on this forum again.............Just too many mean people for me.

At least I was smart enough to make sure my kids team would play in the OPL state cup. and not the OYSA FAKE CUP.

Was the only state cup prior to last year for all but U11. Hardly a fake just different from your choice.

          WSM Defection

WSM U-18 Boys didn't get the memo from JB, or could it be they had a choice all along?

OPL State Cup at U-18 just got exciting looks like ESUFC has the inside track on this one.

There are 5 WSM teams signed up for the OYSA State cup. It's good to see that they were actually given a choice unlike some other clubs.

Funny how the president of the OPL's OWN CLUB is putting so many teams into the OYSA state cup. Talk about hypocritical!

Let the fall of the OPC/OPL begin...

You have to wonder what the Timbers think of this..........

What a joke of an organization. How can anyone take the opl seriously if their own president is sending teams to the oysa state cup? Not just one, but several teams.

Just watch tho opl crumble from the top down.

U 16 Boys quite logical. They went to Regional Finals 2 years ago and last year won the whole US club competition. No reason to do that again, so go back to where you almost made it to Nationals before. Good luck Galacticos.

Note, most WS teams are doing OPL, so that gives credibility to argument that they really did get a choice, but most have chosen OPL. At moment, OPL seems to have the leverage and wont give it up easily.

You're probably right. I'm sure this was a club wide decision to compete in the OYSA State Cup. I'm sure JB was in on the decision to do this.

It just goes to show how fractured the OPL really is and how these DOCs are just in it for themselves.

I think you are the joke. He gave his teams the option to choose what was best for them. This is the way it should be. Grow up.

                          Ohh... Defensive much?

This just goes to show how illegitimate the opl really is. It is nothing more than a vehicle for a few DOCs to profit from classic soccer in Oregon.

There is no reason for these teams to not compete in the OYSA. It is rediculouse for them to play in the OPL all year only to return for e OYSA state cup.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is great that they are doing this. My point is how it is just another example of the problems caused by the OPL.

Can you point to me where it says in the OPL bylaws each club/DOC get a payout? I keep hearing about that, but I have yet to find anything or see anything that proves this assertion.

The OPL president is a paid position. So JB is paid by both the OPL and WSM.

Letting the big clubs run and manage their own league gives them a LOT more power over Oregon classic soccer. This indirectly helps their clubs and the DOC's make more money.

It's funny that the OYSA participants list now has a big banner across the top that says "Welcome Westside Timbers Teams"
