It will be OPL
What would any WSM team play any thing but OPL? The best teams in each age group are in the OPL state cup win and go to surf cup or not, or US Club or not.
Play OYSA and you are bond, you mush attend US youth regionals, MUST no choices in OYSA, NONE.
OYSA is a joke, always have been, alway will be, until they change the leadership.
There are choices now in Oregon, and no one wants to dance with the ugly OYSA to bad.

Our Club anticipated entering all our teams in the 2012 OPL State Cup.* It has come to our attention that USSF Bylaw 603 and Policy 212-1 provides that a club can’t restrict teams from entering the USYSA National Cup Series which is administered by OYSA.* This USSF bylaw states that we must provide teams with the option in playing in a USYSA sanctioned event (such as the OYSA State Cup or President’s Cup) or US Club Soccer sanctioned events. Our legal team and Board has reviewed the USSF Bylaw and have concluded that we must inform our members that they have a choice as to which event your team wants to participate.
*
In deciding which event will participate in, it is important to note that this is a team decision.* Please* schedule a team meeting as soon as possible to discuss these choices. * You will also receive input from your coaches.* The following information is provided in order to help your decision process.
*
Playing in OYSA State (USYSA National Cup):
*
·******** In entering the tournament, you agree that if the team is declared winner of the Oregon State Championship, you will be the Oregon representative and you must participate in USYSA Regional in Phoenix, Arizona or be subject to sanctions and penalties.
·******** We anticipate that a team winning the USYSA Oregon State Cup will spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event in Phoenix, AZ.
·******** Each team will be required to pay a $17 per player card cost with OYSA.* This card is required in order to participate in this event.
·******** Each team that is declared the USYSA Oregon State Cup Champions will also have to pay a Far West Regional Entry Fee of $500 for the U12 and U13 age groups and corresponding $700 for the U14 and up age groups.
·******** Each team that enters the USYSA Oregon State Cup will have pay $300 to take part in a qualifying tournament/league in order to be eligible to participate in the USYSA State Cup.* Other arrangements can be made to lessen this cost.
*
Playing is USYSA President’s Cup
*
·******** In entering the tournament, you agree that if the team is declared winner of the Oregon President’s Cup , you will be the Oregon representative and you must participate in President Cup Regionals in* Arvada, Colorado or be subject to sanctions and penalties.
·******** We anticipate that a team winning the Oregon President’s Cup will spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event in Colorado.
·******** Each team will be required to pay a $17 per player card cost with OYSA.* This card is required in order to participate in this event.
·******** Each team that is declared the *Oregon President’s *Cup Champions will also have to pay a Far West Regional Entry Fee of $575.
·******** Each team that enters the Oregon President ‘s State Cup will have pay $300 to take part in a qualifying tournament/league in order to be eligible to participate in the President’s *Cup.* Other arrangements can be made in order lessen this cost.
*
Playing in the OPL State Cup:
*
·******** If you team is declared the OPL State Cup Champion you have the option of attending US Club Nationals in Chicago, IL
·******** We anticipate teams winning the OPL State Cup and electing to attend the US Club Nationals in Chicago, IL to spend approximately $1,000 per individual in order to attend this event.
*
We would like your team’s decision communicated to the Westside Office by 3:00 P.M. Tuesday March 20th, 2012.* Teams not communicating their decision by this deadline will be automatically entered in the OPL State Cup.** We apologize for the short notice.
*
Please remember that you must be in good financial standing with the Club in order to participate in Club sponsored events.*

Opl
So WSM put out a letter, an American letter of Freedom of Choice. Each team will decide. Again they will decide OPL because it is a better product and OYSA will cry foul because they were not picked.
Same old same old.

Kudos to wsm for giving the teams options. My. DD plays for Thusc and would like the same option. It's a win-win. I wish our board would also realize this.
