Does anyone have a game summary they can share? Would really like to hear how the teams looked, any standout performances, exceptional keeper play, etc.

Well, in the LO West Linn game there were 22 players on the field, a soccer ball, a referree and two ARs (one of whom was the worst AR I have ever seen, didn't get a single call right all night long, was overruled by the center on numerous occasions) and two goals, but to say that they played soccer, you would have to change the definition of the game of soccer. There were occasional glimpes of soccer, but for much of the night it was something else they were playing, not sure what. I think we (LO) deserved the win, but it's not like either team played a great game.

Most of TuHS' upper classmen are injured, so all the results are represented by the up and coming.

The Sunset/Jesuit game was fun to watch with lots of action, although, like the LO poster previously mentioned, it wasn't really soccer in a few stretches. A little too much 'booty ball' for my taste. Both sides had ample opportunities with the Sunset keeper needing to make a few good saves to keep it deadlocked. In all honesty I think last years games were better played between these two but hey, just my opinion. :)

Jesuit-Sunset Girls game

My comments of the Jesuit-Sunset Girls game: Both teams looked well prepared. Sunset coach Durano offering advice throughout game. Jesuit coach Fennah occasionally called player over to the sidelines for consultation. Center ref OK, allowed quite a bit more hand/arm grabs (mainly Sunset) than I thought should have been allowed. Possession about 70% Jesuit. Jesuit on the attack most of the night, simply didn't finish. Had some very good chances. Sunset could have/should have scored twice on their few attempts when Jesuit GK made silly mistakes. A/R on crowd side was as helpful and active as a '59 Buick hood ornament. Couldn't even let center ref know about subs waiting. Many times behind the play. Fairly physical on both sides. Most play in Sunset's defensive half. Sunset defense bent but did not break. Best Sunset opportunities on counter attacks after blocked Jesuit kicks. Appeared to be several hand balls on both sides not called. Not really many shots on goal, with Jesuit about a 2:1 edge.

Bottom line: Jesuit looked more polished as a team, just didn't finish. 3-4 Jesuit normal starters injured and did not play. Not sure about Sunset injuries, if any. If Jesuit finishes, its a 4-0 or so blow-out. Center ref allowed opposing team subs without other team subs at goal kicks, seemed odd. Fun to watch action, but a bit boring without any scoring. FINAL: 0-0.
