Sunset scored on 2 set plays (headers off corners), a beautiful cross and a break-a-way by a freshman striker/mid. It was 2-0 at half, Aloha came out and put one in about midway and Sunset finished with 2 unanswered.

Is the Metro League good this year? Looking at the close results (Sunset only up 2-1 in the 2nd half over an Aloha team that doesn't have many club players but always seems to hang tough in the ML then pulls away late), Jesuit with close victories over Southridge and Westview, Sunset-Jesuit playing to a scoreless tie as examples) I wonder if this is going to be like this all year?

Some of the other leagues have had all sorts of A beats B by a wide margin, B beats C by a wide margin, but B beats A by a wide margin too scenarios- not so far in the ML.

          Men's games

Lincoln ties with 5a Wilsonville??? What happened?

CC gets win...maybe they are finished with all the ties.

Where's the love for Forest Grove at 7-0? Next week's game-of-the-week...FG vs. Tualatin. Win that and they turn around and face a good Mac team. I think the Pacific Conference will do well come November!

Clackamas...What up? Looking good, minus a tie against LO.

Grants Pass...enjoy the ranking while your there.

          North/South Medford...any reports?

Metro, Three Rivers and Central Valley are all in a tossup at this point, but Central Valley will sort itself out this week, I think. Metro and Three Rivers might be tight all year. a

Sunset had 4 starters out last night, also the same reason they lost to Sherwood and W. Salem. most came back against Clackamas and beat them 4-0. So when the season approaches playoff time, you'll see the real Sunset team.

Guess you could say the same with Jesuit then too. Injuries have kept 3 starters out all year, one more injured along the way. Seeing as how every team makes the play-in/playoffs let's hope every body on every team gets back on the field by late October!

Didn't Jesuit have like 7 starters out for their game vs Tualatin?

Tualatin only beat Liberty by 2-0? Hum, wow, wonder if they played their bench a lot?

jesuit is a very good team and like sunset and tualatin, will be there in the end.

Final 4 predictions; Jesuit, Sunset, Tualatin, and Thurston

My niece goes to Sherwood and my daughter was a ball girl for their Tigard game last evening. Sherwood had more shots, more chances, but were consistently fouled in the box. Tigard's defenders love to tangle legs or step on toes and then literally collapse on the threatening player. I think when you see the same two defenders "tangle and trip and fall" (yea, whoops, not!) on the strikers 7 times for one and 3 times for the other, it is clearly purposeful and not a "whoops, accident, no foul" type play.

Sherwood got one PK out of the fouls, the rest of left uncalled with the ref commenting after the game, when questionned, that sometimes the girls trip on themselves or another player and it is not really a foul. Apparently despite the frequency, and the fact the defender was only clumsy, ha, when the striker was about to shoot. lol. Tigard better learn real non fouling defense before they play Tualatin. Get a good ref and Tigard is done.

That said, Tigard had a few chances, though certainly less than Sherwood. Tigard scored from far out when sherwood changed GK's and let the GK recovering from ACL surgery play. Great GK but her mobility is not what it will be, and she was not able to jump for a shot by Tigard. Defender was not marked, girl had open chance and took it. Was a nice far out shot. I do think Sherwood's starting healthy GK would have had it, but who knows really.

Good game minus the box fouls. Tigard has good midfield but needs work offensively. Defensively they need to learn to defend w/o fouling. I ref hs games for boys in the PDX area and all of those trip and tangle actions would have easily been PK worthy box fouls with a good ref. You cant purposely or even accidentally take a striker who is threatening to score down on the ground and not be called. Bad ref job.

Predictions, Grant? How has Grant looked? I figured they would be in the top few for most peoples predictions, no?

I thought Jesuit had 17 players out against Tualatin? Who Cares!

No, tualatin played only 2 players on the field against their 11

Thurston's year this year. Sunset not so sure of.
