The top 6 club teams could beat the HS State Champs primarily because they have played together longer and understand the game better, not to mention that they are composed of 100% club players whereas on the HS side all but Jesuit are lucky to have more than 6 club players on a roster.
This is really a silly debate because as many posters have noted HS is for FUN. Club is for scholarships and national recognition!

It really depends on the school you go to and if you luck out and are part of a HS team with all club players like Jesuit, Tualatin, Sunset, and Westview. Tualatin's girls HS program and Sunsets were ran the same as club and 95% of the players were club. Last years team was capable of beating all the U17/U18 clubs in the area if not out of state too. Its a shame that not all HS coaches take it as serious as those two programs. Because you can tell the difference in intensity, training, and conditioning.

The westside teams are VERY lucky to have so many club players but they also have club coaches that take things seriously and train seriously. My daughter is in better shape from HS than club and she plays on a high level club team as well. Her coach takes it seriously and doesn't phone it in for a check like I have heard from other parents. No snobbery there, we just know we are lucky.
Take things seriously? Because it helps her do what? Train seriously? for what? Get real idiot

ECNL teams on the other hand practice 5 days a week and conditioning is included in their practice routines.

There are other Premier clubs around the country where you practice more but the fee reflects the added coaching!
