The top 6 club teams could beat the HS State Champs primarily because they have played together longer and understand the game better, not to mention that they are composed of 100% club players whereas on the HS side all but Jesuit are lucky to have more than 6 club players on a roster.

This is really a silly debate because as many posters have noted HS is for FUN. Club is for scholarships and national recognition!
Last year Sunset had 3 former club players I believe. The rest, current club players.

It really depends on the school you go to and if you luck out and are part of a HS team with all club players like Jesuit, Tualatin, Sunset, and Westview. Tualatin's girls HS program and Sunsets were ran the same as club and 95% of the players were club. Last years team was capable of beating all the U17/U18 clubs in the area if not out of state too. Its a shame that not all HS coaches take it as serious as those two programs. Because you can tell the difference in intensity, training, and conditioning.

All the coaching in the world isn't going to do squat for the teams that don't have club player availability. This is the snobbery of the westside believing it has superior coaching etc when in fact it has the predominance of club player.s

My post said there are 95% club players so I agree with you. But I also think the other coaches could do more than just show up for a paycheck and treat the players and parents with respect. The westside teams are VERY lucky to have so many club players but they also have club coaches that take things seriously and train seriously. My daughter is in better shape from HS than club and she plays on a high level club team as well. Her coach takes it seriously and doesn't phone it in for a check like I have heard from other parents. No snobbery there, we just know we are lucky.

your daughter clearly plays for a garbage club team because anyone with a brain would tell you that statement made your club team look like a joke.

Take things seriously? Because it helps her do what? Train seriously? for what? Get real idiot

A typical PDX area Premier team does not have more than 3 practices a week and the players on those top teams are "expected" to do their conditioning training on their own in addition to the practice and games. This "routine" is similar for all lower cost clubs where you are not paying for more than 3 practices and a game. There are other Premier clubs around the country where you practice more but the fee reflects the added coaching!

ECNL teams on the other hand practice 5 days a week and conditioning is included in their practice routines.

My DD plays at sunset and we have club players that plays on Thusc sodium, wsm fury, FC navy, etc..., all top teams in their respective age groups and yes this HS team definitely trains hard and runs more than club teams. My DD is far in better shape after High school season.

Our club has team training 3x per week, conditioning 1 day, positional training 1 day, and every now and then sprinkled in a Friendly on the weekend

Sounds like too much. Hope they don't burn them out. Do they ever play on their own for fun?

How old are they (more or less). This sounds like a serious program. Excellent in fact.
