If OCYS, then it is gender discrimination against girls who are treated differently?
Clubs and USYS and US club soccer, DOCs, Coaches all are colluded in a scam. They publish and market and control club establishment rules as well as training guidelines.

Reality is: We paid about 1500$ to play for a state cup team. So far into the season, we had 24 sessions of training and 20 games, including league and tournaments. That is about 36 hours of training and may be we will be lucky to get another 16 hours before season ends. With this 50 to 60 hours of training, you get to play in state cup? then we compare ourselves to rest of the worlds football countries? It is a shame on these FYSA/US Youth Soccer or USSF whoever runs this monopoly, license and aid the clubs to scam. In our case atleast we get some quality training (no prescribed quantity), but rest of the club does not have same level of coaching.
USA is known for free market and why soccer and that too at little kids level has to be this badly exploited?

      I agree

OC U14 purple is a joke. We have a coach not dedicated. Paying thousands of dollars ane we get two practices a week if lucky. His daughter is on ECNL so who cares about purple. Done with this rodeo. SB and KH are a joke. They could do not care. KH would rather be at pre ecnl than at purple practice.

Focus on what you have. Simple task.

KH is a roach... he doesn't care about developing or teaching. All he can handle is pumping air in the balls. No experience just a poor guy with no life of his own . OCYS charges same amount to parents with kids in purple teams but they don't care about how qualified or experienced coaches are... just top teams get attention so purple are on their on. Developing is a joke. Why don't you search on KH resume. SB's is known for cheating at games as well...the worst from FCA was brough to OCYS and no one cares.

Shocker! You're just now realizing this. Since day 1, OC has made it clear that they're only about the top teams. Hence the reason so many left. Nothing wrong with trying to be the best, it's just sad the sales job they give everybody else.

OCYS, you have just 3 months left to make some changes to your training schedule. That will carry over into your next tryouts. Unless your strategy is to just run DA/ECNL and MLS academy.

What makes you think they will change in 3 months. They haven't changed in almost 3 years.

It was the experiment and taking for granted of other clubs vulnerabilities. In the last 3 years, hope is they have learnt some valuable lessons and everyone is entitled for forgiveness of rookie mistakes.

Question is of timing. If GPS publishes curriculum and offer current or more days training, at least a few well informed and fairly competitive players are expected to leave.
If FKK and other clubs publish their curriculum that will also be great.

On the other hand, if training is increased from now on at OCYS, that will set up proof that they care. If not that will prove they simply are focused on higher DA and MLS alone. They have lots of funding from OC, no need to cater for purple and lower teams.

OC will put their best foot forwards starting in late March early April. This way they suck you back for another year. Lol good luck

As you have a U14 player, you still have a chance to work the system. Most of the purple teams care little for the College prospect (ask for the plan). U14 is still young and alot can change before 12th grade. It's alot of work on the parents and kids part to position yourselves for recruitment. Let's watch how many purple team players sign NLI on Wednesday; you may gauge the future from there... Can you get to the ECNL? If not you might look to another club that may develop and showcase... If the player stays interested and dedicated.
Otherwise the purple teams will prepare the kids well enough to enjoy high school soccer.

We have seen this approach first hand. Not Buying what OC is selling anymore.

I can't believe parents will continue to stick around for next year. Club shows absolutely no commitment towards any teams, even their state cup teams. No practices for 4 months, now 2 practices a week no way these teams can compete with other clubs in the state or with clubs right here in Central Florida. They seem to forget we are paying customers. Thrilled MLS is now in Orlando and we'll go to plenty of games, but that definitely won't keep me at OC. My kids will play wherever I can find committed coaches and a club committed to the success of their teams.

FKK and Rush both producing some really good teams that will do very well in state cup. Some very good coaches as well. Sure both clubs will greatly benefit from dissatisfied OC parents and players at tryouts. Basically club prices are all about the same so eventually parents will move towards clubs where they feel that they can get the most for their money.

Sounds like an excuse, blaming the coaches/club for your kids lack of improvement/success..

Why do parents always bring up the fact that their paying... you pay for SHOES, do you blame Nike or Adidas for no improvement? . Sure you pay the club, are you paying to improve your child? or are you PAYING to participate in the club on a TEAM??????

Seem to me to onus for your child's improvement lies on the individual and their parents. Does your payment to the club stop them from replacing your child if someone better shows up?

In my humble opinion, most coaches aren't equipped to develop players, sure they know some drills and some basic drills but can or do they take OK players and make them good? or does the improvement of a player come from the player itself?

Define what are you paying for, and I think you will understand why most coaches don't make players better, there not paid to do that.
