Not true. Only the state cup champion will get an automatic invite to Showcase. I have seen runner ups get turned away just last year for not playing qualifier. Three of those teams are screwed. Disney has a long memory. Maybe next year.

Disney does in fact have a long memory. declined is when you've applied, and have been declined a spot. (though I've seen these teams invited at the last minute to fill gaps).

read the list of registered coaches not to many on the boys side a few more on the girls side

This tournament is during college preseason, so not many coaches show. If anything this should be used as a preview of the teams' strengths and weaknesses befoe the season goes into full swing.

No offense to you or your daughter, but she is a terrible coach. I have watched enough of her training sessions and games to know that she is awful. She has no idea about tactics or managing the game. I haven't seen your daughters team play I am sure, but she doesn't have a very good record as a coach, and that is the reason that OC has pushed her back to only coaching the U9 players now. She may be a very nice person and do a great job in the office, but that does not make her deserve the competitive coach of the year award. There is a whole line of coaches around the state that deserve this award before her.

She is the worst coach my daughter has come across and is also extremely tied up in politics which is the ONLY possible way she has been given this award. Outrageous.
