WFF "lures players in" by having a successful ECNL program. They were third in the SE Conference in just their second year. They placed a couple dozen u18's in college.

I'm assuming your just talking ECNL so how did they place a couple of dozen on a team with a roster of 20? 1st of all not all of those girls got scholarships, 2nd several of those girls committed before going to OCYS so ECNL had nothing to do with it. Keep spinning....

If practice location is irrelevant, then why are you making such a big deal about where OCYS practices?

If practice location is irrelevant, why does fkk work so hard to keep central winds. Should t they be able to go anywhere and keep their players.

This is the talking soccer equivalent of "I know you are, but what am I..." Jeezus! When in doubt deflect and mention FKK. What OCYS is missing is that vilifying FKK does not make them look better. They are a PR (pun intended) nightmare!

How about they actually focus on putting their MLS money where their mouth is and work to improve ECNL and not just give it lip service. A field change should not give anyone a warm fuzzy that OC is working hard to improve ECNL.

Not vilifying just wondering if field location isn't a big deal, why is Econ being criticized. I am thrilled for it to be there as it is a better location for me but I know others will be affected negatively. I do think things are more improved at ecnl. The coaches have been much more dedicated this year, and you can criticize our funded travel but at least we have something to susudize what we do for our kids.

They had three sentences that discussed the field change. 76 words out of a 944 word memo. I would think this would be information people would want to know before they try out. If they didn't say anything about it until after tryouts, you would criticize them for that too.

And you would criticize them if they did bring Marta in to train.

Better get that commitment in writing. Lots of attorneys on their side and they will have something in small print where you won't be able to get out of your commitment should they decide to rescind that part if the agreement.

They lured players in by having a successful program. Isn't that a circular argument? Where did they get the players to have the successful program to start with? Did they all come from WFF, or did they come from other clubs in the area, and in the surrounding areas?

I didn't say "lured" (past tense). I said "lures" (present tense). Initially, WFF had a pretty solid program initially and mostly WFF players. So did CFK, but then the "unpleasantness" occurred.

In the present, WFF has a solid record of success to use to attract talent. OCYS does not. Changing fields to attract talented players to a crappy program won't work. First, OC has to build a program worth joining. There's no skipping ahead.

3rd in ECNL SE Conference. As for the college placement, every player on their ECNL team that wanted to play in college is playing in college, plus another group from their Premiere team.

You really should relax and think before your go off like that. But since you obviously have a hair trigger, you should also know that FKK's black team placed all 18 of their rostered players. The FKK White team placed 5.

^^^ With all due respect, because I'm sure your daughter is a fine player, these are the wrong reasons to want to play ECNL.

And that's the point people are trying to make regarding the fields. Fields are irrelevant if the fundamentals of the program are weak. I don't think for a second the OC BoD sat around pondering "how can we improve our ECNL program" and collectively voted that making the fields more accessible to other areas was the way to go, do you?

that's why I think there is another reason, and all this nonsense about "attracting talent" is a smoke screen and spin.
