NYFC didn't have a stadium deal in place when they were awarded a team, and it was obvious that they wouldn't have a stadium ready by their first year, at least. "Up until now, MLS had been publicly suggesting that an official announcement on a 20th team would be dependent on approval of plans on their Queens stadium project. While New York City FC has not abandoned those efforts, they have taken over negotiations and may choose to explore other possibilities. Playing at Yankee Stadium isn't intended to be a long term solution. They are still looking for a site for a soccer stadium. It might not be "fair" that they were awarded a team without having a stadium deal already in place. But you are comparing Phil Rawlins and Orlando to NYC, Manchester City, and the NY Yankees. They are going to get the benefit of the doubt.Comment

Their U11 team finished dead last amongst all U11 girl teams in Region B Cup while also giving up the most goals in initial round of Region B Cup competition. The U12 team has some talent but played 8v8 in the Fall and started playing 11v11 in the Spring in GCF so are untested. The U13 team is very good but has been beset with some injuries this past year which likely contributed to them not advancing past final 16 round for State Cup. So the U13 girls are a top team when healthy, the U12 girls have potential to be competitive but are behind other teams in Orlando and the U11 girls need a lot of work. And with tryouts coming in a few weeks a lot can and will most likely change.Originally posted by Unregistered View Post

Why would any local girl team want to play in this tournament when OCYS only has enough girl teams to fill 1 bracket at the moment? Why aren't the top girls teams at OCYS even participating? So where is the competition to attract other teams genius? Heck, even on the boys side you can't even get any of your top purple teams to sign up as nobody wants to play in this recreational tournament. Thanks for posting a link that shows how pathetic OCYS is in attracting teams to an OCYS tournament. Seems to be a pattern here.
