That's flat out untruthful. No surprise coming from OC however. Makes you wonder how many other emails OC has issued claiming support from other clubs that they never actually got.

Kevin
I was just about to send you a reply from Orlando City having just meet with our leadership group. We are not in support of FKK joining the NPL for the following reasons.
1. The Orlando market can not support 3 NPL clubs. The geographical location of FKK would reduce both Orlando City and FC America's ability to field competitive teams that can compete in a state wide league.
The caliber of players required to play NPL is already diluted in a small market place that competes with USSDA and ECNL.
2. We have a full competitive calendar with the existing clubs and don't need additional games.
3. We would question the competitive level of the Boys program at FKK.
In closing the growth of soccer and the NPL league doesn't happen by diluting the player pool in a small geographical area that impacts its existing member clubs.
Thanks
Alan Hough | ECNL and Girls Senior Academy Director | Orlando City Youth Soccer
What AH and others a OCYS do not understand is that premier players consolidate around the best training and coaches. OCYS is trying to restrict options instead of elevating their coaching and training to attract more players.
OCYS is playing for a draw instead of trying to score and win.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostYou're rationalizing your fear of competition in a free market- just like Hough did. Look at it this way- if OCYS thinks there's already "too many" clubs in Orlando, why don't you do the right thing "for the kids" and shut down OCYS?
Everyone in town has wanted what OC has started in Orlando since before any of us were involved. The complex, the very top boys and girls leagues and even affiliated with a men's professional team and hopefully soon a womens. If OC shut it's doors today soccer in Orlando would be set back 15 years and may never recover because who would trust this market again?
What's best for everyone is if all of the little players who want their own kingdom would either join in and make it better or move along but being needy causes people to be very short sided.
BTW ... I think the management of OC is complete @$$&&%*# but they are still the only ones who can make it work. Eventually it will.

Example is calling a stadium built solely for Orlando City Soccer a "soccer-centric multi-use facility."

Why would an email sent to the SE director end up public? Seems like someone is in bed with someone doesn't it? Professionalism certainly doesn't have anything to do with youth soccer does it?

AH sent an email to someone (not the general public) whom he felt could (or should) be trusted. That person posted that e-mail on TS. That's wrong no matter how you feel about his concerns.

OC is just whining because their position looks really, really bad.
Too bad OC. You made your bed now ly in it.

And he can't know what is best for the county if he fails to make even the slightest effort to get the facts. If he didn't ask these questions before the stadium was approved, he failed to do his job.
