I have older kids, and if you have ever gone to a competition where the kids are seasoned travelers and know how to behave and get around, you can tell. You can tell immediately a kid who has never left the comforts of home. Not everyone has families who can travel or who do travel so sports is way to learn and experience that. For a newer club, less than 2 years old, (I say that because I read about the start up clubs), OC has some great players but are still working on developing more. Dallas super copa is for u9- u12. Why are other states more advanced in soccer than is, um I can see why. Kids need to learn to compete. I look at Orlando city because of the different opportunities they offer. I would have loved for my older kids to have that option. They turned out great. However, it would have been nice.
Did you even read what I wrote? Your asking me If I played competitive sports when in my original post I even stated I played in the Dallas Cup myself. Maybe I should ask you if you can read? Yikes.

Yes I played in the Dallas Cup, in college and semi-professionally. It is not necessary for U9 and U10 boys to be traveling to Dallas from Orlando to play in that tournament. I know all about the prestige of the Dallas Cup, but it does nothing for a U9 or U10 player. If you are sending 8 & 9 year old kids to Dallas from Orlando to play in a tournament your likely going to burn your child from pushing too hard before anything else and hopefully you don't push them right out of the game.

Read it again. Not 5 FKK players. More like 9- which is 40% of the signees.

Don't try to dissuade them. The Directorship has them convinced that a 10 year old kid needs "exposure" to be successful.... You'll never convince them otherwise, and they'll havee to learn the hard way.

Then you would know Dallas cup starts at u13.

They will jump back into action when required. PR has been behaving. OC is preparing for tryouts, so they have been busy passing out purple Koolaide

Can you refute that FIVE FKK's signees never played ECNL? Can you refute that two more of them never even played for OCYS, but joined FKK after the split? How about the ones that were committed before ECNL even existed in Florida?

That's at least 9 or 40% of FKK signees that never played ECNL or committed without it. That's at least 18% of OCYS signees that committed before ECNL.

Those are facts. 40% is not "splitting hairs". Your continuous claim that "all FKK girls were recruited because of ECNL" is factually incorrect.
These girls also played GCF, CDL , FPL and High school soccer. These girls also played in showcase. These girls had coaches and directors helping in the college process. Those directors were NOT OC directors and coaches. Get lost OC you have taken more credit then you already deserve for anything resembling soccer in Orlando. Your 25 months old. Your still in your terrible twos as toddler and showing all your arrogance.

That "nonsense" kicked OCYS' ass on their first outing. The corporate bully backed down. Your move, big boy.

And please pick the scab and rehash the issue of the fields in Orange County. It's important everyone be reminded of the OCYS attempt at a power grab and Phil's embarrassing retreat.

And FKK is all of a year old and you want to take credit? Talking out of both sides of your mouth. The truth is the boys and girls are where the credit lies. Some can go to the coaches and trainers - and they are at both clubs. Get over your self righteousness.

100% true. You look at any player that is a college recruit and the amount of hours they spent on the ball OUTSIDE of practice is the difference. It is the player's passion for developing themselves, not the 6 hours a week the coach spends with them.

A couple of them joined FKK AFTER the break with OC. 5 of the girls that signed as FKK players this year never played ECNL at OCYS. You are factually WRONG in your claim that all this years FKK signees were recrutied as a result of ECNL.

Hell, at least two of the u18s on OCYS s CURRENT ECNL team were committed as u17s BEFORE THEY joined the ECNL team this year.

Once again- you OCYS zombies simply repeat the crap you're fed by the Directorship. And once again, you swallow what you're told without even ONCE asking the athletes themselves who they credit with the guidance during recruiting.
Then why were the CFK NLI numbers so pathetic? If you believe HM and his cronies are the reason for recruiting success, why was CFK just an average club that was consistently behind FCA and SCU in getting kids to the next level.

When OCYS came to Orlando, the number of NLI's jumped dramatically. FKK would have about 10 NLI signings without the year of ECNL exposure

OC ECNL teams are playing 4 showcases a year. Each showcase has over 400 coaches in attendance. The one at SSC is one of the most successful with over 600 college coaches on the sidelines scouting OUR players. OC will continue to have recruiting success. With DA and ECNL, the numbers will continue to grow. Next year we will have between 45-50 NLI Day signings. FKK numbers will be down from 2014 and will continue to decrease each and every year until they are back to the old CFK numbers which is about average for a Central Florida Club.

That is the difference. You are no different than any other Central Florida club. There is nothing exceptional about your coaching, your training, your parents or your players. I put your club right in the middle of the mix. IF HM was smart, he would move his home fields two miles east and get back the FYSA affiliation. You can't "develop" talent when you don't have leagues to put your little ones in and CDL does not have younger age groups. Go back to what you did as CFK and FKK will be fine. If you keep up this vendetta against OC you will lose. We have more money, more clout and now we have more talent than you.

FKK just needs to focus on winning what they can locally and be happy with what you have because you will never have the talent, resources and success that OC has built in two short years.

It is important to remember that the "Coalition" said they should be the clubs doing outreach in their own 15-mile designated territories. So what the OP is asking is where is all the outreach?

Outreach is not doing Fun Fridays at shopping malls

Outreach is not offering players from other clubs free scholarships

Outreach is not painting OC as the villain when you don't have the stones to go into poor neighborhoods and try and grow soccer.

Call it for what it is. You parents are scared. Scared that if your club went into the poor neighborhoods they might actually find talent that puts your little Mia or Landycakes on the bench. You are scared of associating with someone who you think will lower the status of your club.

You people disgust me with your pompous self-entitled attitude toward the game that only requires a ball and a flat surface to play on. Why aren't you trying to grow the game beyond the suburbs of your current membership.

I will tell you why. You want to keep things the same. You finally found a game where your kid can see some decent playing time. They could not make the football, basketball or baseball team so you are finally happy. You don't want those poor blacks and Hispanics knocking your kid out of this sport too.

Well guess what? It is happening whether you like it or not. The fastest growing population in Orlando is Hispanic. OC will make sure that all children, regardless of color or culture, will get a chance to play soccer.

DA is free! ECNL will be free! We will be doing what you refuse to do and developing after-school programs, donating equipment and getting leagues started in the poorest neighborhoods in Central Florida. And we will find them. Oh yes sweet Lord we will find them. They are faster than your kid, quicker than your kid and we will give them a ball and teach them the game. So while your chubby little boy is chugging Monster, stuffing his face with Cheetos and playing X-Box, our little projects will be in the street, on the court, in the fields and on the dirt practicing. You see our kids don't have X-Box, iPhones and all the other diversions of today's suburban brats. Our kids will be out there every day working the ball, playing pick up games and enjoying the game the way it was meant to be played.

The days of soccer being a fourth sport are over. We are bringing the real athletes into the game and there is not a damn thing you can do about it. So go ahead and write your emails to Theresa Jacobs. Go ahead and bug your county commissioner. Tell them why OC can't come into your poor neighborhoods and start development programs. Go ahead. Funny thing about poor people - the can vote too. Just try and take something away from them.

I look forward to the next coalition move.
