You want to go offer free soccer to poor kids? Nothing's stopping you. But you don't get to also monopolize soccer fields under the charade of "helping the poor". You can have a free clinic this weekend in Paramore. Just head on over with the Clown Car and have at it- no one will prevent you.

Your turn. Please keep this topic front and center...
The land for the new stadium is vacant and can accommodate a fusal event in Paramore. The first time the Ocity leadership will ever go to Paramore will be for the ground breaking. They had no intention of doing community outreach and they got caught over reaching. Ocity is a bunch of carpet baggers and I am glad the County Commission is starting to see them for what they are.

Yes, my kid plays for FKK and accordingly I have seen OCYS for what it really is. A marketing machine with almost no substance. House of cards.

Sign of how bad things are at OCYS

The number of "real" soccer clubs that have both DA and ECNL across the country is very small. My estimate is less than 15, and maybe less than 10.

1)I assure you that none of them have had to fill DA and ECNL teams with kids in lower age groups.
      2) I also assure you that all of them turn away 3 times as many players as they accept on their DA and ECNL teams at upcoming tryouts.

I am not saying that FCA, FKK, MAI, RUSH or any other club is a better option, but something is very wrong with how OCYS operates.

U9 - U10 Competitive Rec is $20 more expensive at OCYS per season. Little Lions Rec is cheaper than FKK's First Touch. U9 - U10 Academy at OCYS is more expensive. U7 - U10 in house rec is less expensive at OCYS..."

Your research, not mine- shows the heart of the program, Academy and comp/rec, is more expensive at OC. Why even argue over this? The bottom line is your program focuses on and sends resources to the DA. you guys brag about your "elite programs" being fully funded, but you're afraid to admit WHO FUNDS THEM. And if you think Phil is writing a personal check, you're crazy.
No, it doesn't. For Academy and comp/rec, U9-U10 is more expensive, and the rest are the same. The in-house rec programs are cheaper at OCYS. You should be less concerned with how much resources are being sent to OCYS DA, and more concerned with where your fees are going. Are you taking funds from your rec players and using it to subsidize the U9-U10?

All clubs set their fees based on what they think people will be willing to pay. They lose on some players, and make money on others. If OCYS is going to have a successful DA, they won't be able to rely on increasing fees on Academy and rec players. The pro club will have to provide the funding.

          God save the Queen!
So should they pass up a chance to hire a good coach, just because he is an Englishman? That wouldn't be very smart.

No, they aren't. Some programs are cheaper at OCYS, some are more expensive, and others are the same. Some of the programs aren't exactly the same, so it is hard to compare which is the best deal. So they aren't identical, but they aren't significantly different either. In other words, they are similar.

I would love to keep this front and center. It shows the true nature of the Coalition, and the ignorance of those who blindly support them.

The Coalition didn't merely point out a position - they threatened to not vote for the Commissioners in the next election. That's a big difference. Not saying that what they did was wrong, but you aren't being honest about what occurred.

And now you are changing your argument. You initially said that no one was stopping OC from whatever program they want. Now you are backtracking and saying OC can have a clinic this weekend. What about an 8 week program after school, on school grounds? Don't bother answering. I have the answer for you, straight from the Coalition, "These programs, if implemented, should be held on school grounds and existing clubs within 15 miles of the schools should be given the opportunity to provide these programs." You can change the subject again, but the truth is that the Coalition opposes OC providing free soccer programs to underprivileged kids at local schools. Even for the Coalition, it is all about $$$$$.

OC lost, period. You are an outsider looking in. Like going to battle with a rubber band and everyone else had a tank. Spend time with your family and work hard. This ts thing just isn't working for you.

If you feel that strongly I hope that you have talked to the DOC about it. Posting on here really isn't going to get it done.

I like the guy, several years ago coached my son in state cup, many probably aren't aware that he has been very successful with teams in State Cup prior to this year
