The lower bowl holds between 16k -18k people. It was very crowded on Sunday. That apparently doesn't make someone happy.

Wrong 'bowl'. we're talking about a stadium, not a latrine.

How do you know there were only 4000 people there? The lower section seats around 15,000 people, not counting the seats in the corners of the north end (the games I have been to there are very few people sitting in those sections.) Are you really saying that the lower section was only 25-30 percent full? Can anyone else confirm that? I wasn't there on Sunday, but every game I have been to the lower section has been at least 50% full, which would be around 7,000 to 7,500 people. Those numbers correspond with the announced attendance at the games I have been to. Remember that they announce the attendance toward the end of the game. By that point, some people have left (to get kids in bed, miss traffic, etc.) But the attendance is based on the number of people who enter the gates, not the exact number of people who are still there when they announce the number.

"At least 50% full" is a ridiculous statement. At all of the games I have been to there is nowhere near 50% of the lower bowl filled. You may think that just looking at the areas occupied, but stop and think about the empty seats all around where you're sitting. You've got you and the 2 or 3 people you're sitting with, you all have your feet on the seats in front of you, there's no one in the seats immediately behind you, and there's 2 or 3 empty seats on each side of you. So that's 3 or 4 of you sitting in an area of about 12 - 20 seats. no one in that stadium is sitting elbow-to-elbow.

                ^^^ Bingo.

"50% full" would mean butts in every seat. Nobody does that- except possibly the drunken mob who are there to chant "f-you, a--hole" at the opposing GK. every time I've attended, the four of us take up at least a dozen seats.

Don't be naive. Who do you suppose gets to make the "official" gate count? The Lion, of course- and there's no audit of those numbers. In fact- they'd be stupid NOT to inflate the numbers. No businessmen in their right mind would miss the opportunity to exaggerate attendance while trying to impress MLS and Buddy Dyer.

I personally would like to hire Orlando City leaders to take on Orange County for my pay raise. I'm a firefighter who has not gotten a raise in 4 years yet our City is about to give foreigners $110 Million for a stadium and yesterday these same foreigners were in seminole county asking for another couple of million dollars for their seminole complex.

                      This is madness!

At least the Seminole Commissioners have sense enough to tie the $2mm to specific performance goals like hotel bookings related to soccr. Over in Orange County, Buddy and Teresa just handed over the dough.

What is madness is that the firefighters & police always think they are somehow special. Cry me a river, lots of people have not got a raise... public and private sector.
