Yes- we have one boondoggle (the Citrus Bowl) and now they want to build another. That makes sense to you?

If I was convinced it would "thrive", I'd be a happy supporter. But Phil and Buddy just keep throwing vague assurances up and numbers out of thin air. I've seen this movie before- I'm against it because it doesn't make economic sense. The fact is they don't NEED our money- they just want to mitigate their own risk.

The Cuitrus bowl and a soccer specific stadium are world's apart. The MLS stadium would have a team playing all of their home games there.... i.e it will be used. The Citrus bowl is a great white elephant that has no team associated with it... i.e. useless.

Yes. Most stadiums hold other sporting events/concerts.

As a member of OCYS I just want some direction from the club regarding Columbus Day weekend. Many of us in the past have been to the ACDC tournament in Tampa and last year we were denied that opportunity because OCYS cancelled their Columbus Day tournament after registration deadline has passed for ACDC tournament so we didn't play anywhere that weekend. Not sure about the boys but TBU normally has some great girls teams. Plus I'm sure there are other successful Columbus Day tournaments in Florida but please do your members right by letting us know what is going on and by not denying us the chance to play against strong caliber teams instead of possibly playing against other OCYS teams. I do not wish failure for this tournament but if registration is as poor as some others say then it would be better to cancel now then to cancel later and not giving members a chance to play elsewhere. Communication would be greatly appreciated and I beleive membership will understand decision to cancel tournament if needed if given proper notice so they can make other arrangements.

just one small detail. We don't have mls. PR has left a city before and I am sure would have no problem doing it again.

The Citrus Bowl was built after an "economic impact study" proved it would be a great investment for the city- "Raising our profile" and "attracting tourists" and "home to numerous events".

I cant wait for the upcoming world frisbee challenge. I also hear that Super Tramp, REO Speedwagon, and Peter Paul and Mary will be having reunion tours and will be performing at our new eyesore, I mean stadium. Of course as long as Buddy has box seats all is good. What a great investment.

Oh by the way, just curious how much of an economic impact is the salary of the players playing MLS?
