Hey, if Phil can claim to speak for everyone in Orlando why can't I? That's exactly what he did in the SI article posted above- "Don't you read or do you just blindly agree to everything?"

Sure, building a stadium adds construction jobs- but so does building a hospital (have you visited the south side lately?). And unlike sports franchises, hospitals actually creat jobs that STAY instead of heading off to the next city every few years. So since it's such a great idea, maybe then we should build TWO stadiums so we can double the construction jobs? You see, friend- your condescending remarks gloss over the real issue- short term v long term economic impact. Can you quantify for me the benefit of "rais(ing) Orlando's profile further"? How about the hard numbers behind "local business impact, OC spending in the community, employment etc."...

Those are all WONDERFUL sounding euphemisms and weaselly phrases lifted straight out of any off-the-shelf economic impact "study". How about Phil gives us some numbers and guarantees? How about if the Lions MLS don't create the jobs, attract the consistent out-of-state tourism you tout and demonstrably have positive economic impact, we get a rebate out of his pocket? Put up or shut up, I say.

and as for the Citrus Bowl- glad you're LOL- because that mess is about to cost us another $20 mm or so for "renovations" since nobody but the Monster Mud Show and the third tier soccer team wants to be there. Why is that? I'm sure if we do some reading we can dig out the decades old "study" that demonstrates the CB will bring millions of dollars, growth, businesses and "raise Orlando's profile further" (lol). how's that working out for us?

I like soccer. You like soccer. How about we pay our own way, instead of burdening EVERYONE (even $5) for us to enjoy MLS here? What right do you or I or Phil or Buddy have to other people's money?

Yes building anything creates jobs. Yes a hospital will create more jobs. Orlando does not need yet another hospital. An MLS franchise would be a boost to the city's profile or do you disagree?

The numbers about local economic impact are all in the study. You can choose to believe them or not. All studies inflate them I am sure. We can all speculate and agree/disagree on how much but there will be some degree of POSITIVE impact.

The citrus bowl does not meet MLS requirements (soccer specific, roof etc.) and cannot be used to house a franchise long term. Besides it is a crumbling heap of junk.

The revenues being discussed are related to the tourist tax and how that is spent is decided upon by the board who administer it. Not you. You cannot use it to build a hospital it has to be used to attract tourist dollars to Orlando.

If FKK broke the rules punish them, if not then clear them
If FKK has evidence that OC broke the rules then I am sure HM won't hold back on reporting them.

What is ironic in all of the nastiness and squabbling between the coaches/ administrators/ boards of OCYS & FKK is that they have the gall to stand up and preach to the parents about their behavior on the sidelines and how they should "set an example for the kids". Works both ways guys.

Hey what's the story on this kid? Sounds from the press release that Orlando City developed him in less than a year and amazingly launched him into a Dutch Academy. Wow those guys at OC are amazing! Good luck to him!

You are dumb. OC took no credit in the recruiting. They even said it was connections through his family friend. The family sent game tape of previous year with OC.

funny, oc accidently helps in getting someone in to a prestigious overseas academy. FKK cant get their "paid" college coaches to sign a kid to D1. Maybe because the coaches are there watching PRACTICE and not GAMES. No one is offering a scholarship based on good practice habits. Dumbasses.

If your coach would have planned it better things would not have happened the way they did. To throw blame in another's court is wrong, he violated the rules people. If it was any other club doing this to you you would not be acting like this. Come on rules are rules

What actually happens is the price at that hospital doubles. The other hospital loses business and they have to raise prices and lay of people. Insurance companies then have to contract with both at lower rates.

Soccer is not growing in this country. The international population is! Everyone is watching EPL and all the other leagues. MLS viewing is down and actually sucks. Fan are watching the foreign leagues.

This will cost you money and everyone else in town accept for big fat Phil.

No, I think he must have been previously coached for years by OCYS coaches. He's a vary skilled player.

OC Academy Director would not include this boy in the DA Program and Coach Heath was not impressed with his ability. Seems like OC was wrong but hey we have a marketing opportunity and what does OC do. RUN THE SPIN ARTICLE
