As I looked for Space Coast players who are going to D1 schools there are not that many . To my surprise the Club with the highest amount of D1 players over the past 3 years is Rush followed by PV. Space Coast has several very high calibre players but not a great amount. Secondly top 25 is only a few for Space Coast.
I see where Space Coast U-18 girls will play Creeks in the next round of State Cup. That will be a tough one to win. In the older age groups over the past few years Space Coact has not been a standout.
Rush does a great job. I forgot to mention them. 3 boys on the national champion '96 boys team.
Again, it is about player development. Wins are great and we all love the hardware, but the real story is in who makes it to the next level. SCU and Ponte Vedra are tested and true player player factories.

And as to your comment about "full rides" the only thing full in that statement is that you're full of sh--. A girl's D1 is limited to 14 full athletic scholarships annually. Incoming Freshman getting a full ride over experienced and proven players is all but unheard of. It's even tougher on the boys side.
ECNL means your parents can fork out 10k to travel all over the country. Nothing against OCYS. They earned the designation. But it just means you are a big club with the resources to play around the country. I would rather my kid travel the country on the University dime then on mine. Unless you can make a connection between ECNL and pro contracts, I will stick with Satellite Beach and the constant flow of D1 coaches that come to us.

While I don't think the mergers were the key reason these two clubs got in I do see that the mergers at least helped fill the holes in each of the clubs.
From my point of view, SCU is a victim of where they are are located. Like Orlando was a few years ago there are lot of small clubs that are watering down the level of play. There are good players they are just spread out and for the most part it's a team based philosphy which normally means building strong teams, with players playing up which is is never a great idea on a broad scale.

CFK to play under Orlando City Youth Soccer banner
ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City announced today the completion of a merger with Central
Florida’s largest youth soccer organization, Central Florida Kraze/Krush (CFK). The
merger adds over 1,700 youth soccer players ages 5 to 18 into the Orlando City
Youth system.
“We have been talking to the board at CFK for quite some time about the potential of
the two clubs coming together, said Phil Rawlins, President of Orlando City. “I am
absolutely delighted that CFK have voted in favor of the merger. This will make the
new Orlando City Youth Soccer club a powerhouse in Florida and the South East
United States. CFK has very experienced leadership and a great coaching staff which
we look forward to working with to progress youth soccer in the region.”
The new club will have a much increased geographical footprint; from Lake Nona in
the south to Sanford and Lake Mary in the north. OCYS will continue to serve all
these areas through local, community-based, programs and continue to utilize the
existing CFK field locations.
In merging together FSA and CFK (including East Orange Soccer who merged with
CFK in 2011), Orlando City Youth Soccer has bought together the three oldest clubs
in Central Florida. The three clubs have a combined 60 plus years of experience in
youth soccer. With CFK being consistently ranked by TopDrawerSoccer.com as the
#1 Club in Florida
“From CFK’s perspective merging our program with Orlando City will give us the
brand recognition of being affiliated with a top pro team, help us attract more
players and give us access to professionals to help us in our development,” said Ed
Filliben President of CFK Soccer. “At CFK we have invested in creating a strong
club structure, which has helped in making us one of the top clubs in the state.
Together with Orlando City we hope to get the opportunity of placing teams in the
top two leagues in the United States, USSF Development Academy for the boys and
ECNL for the girls. The combination of both organizations will be a win-win for all the
soccer players in our area.”
The merger is subject to the approval of the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA)
and will become official at the close of the FYSA Spring Season. The CFK coaches
and staff will all be welcomed into the existing OCYS club structure. All current CFK
teams will play the remainder of Spring season without changes.

My point is development and great coaching and training leads to great players. I would rather be a 4-star recruit from a small club then to play ECNL. It is all about priorities and hammers home the point that it really should be development over wins/titles.

Some can be lured away from other clubs with promise of ECNL play and State Cup Championships. That will happen in June. But if you have all these kids who have amazing skills and just need to be coached, tell me why you would not want a satellite club in their neighborhood? FCA already has Academies in those areas. OCYS acquires next door clubs like EOS for their rec program. They acquire FSA and CFK to be the heavyweight youth program in the market. Why not make the investment in the Latino market and get amazing players and their very loyal, passionate families? They probably won't pose much of a threat to the Black team at first. The kids play a loose unorganized style of soccer. But once one of those premiere coaches starts working with them, then the talent and ability will turn them into real contenders.

"Mega clubs" don't want the additional burden of having to subsidize any more than a token amount of players. "Mega clubs" are perfectly content to wring monies out of upper-middle income and above families.
Imagine the uproar if OCYS were to reach out to and bring in an infux of Latinos. Upper-middle-class income and above parents would go ballistic - their cozy, "country club, "elitism" would be shattered.

You have made great a valid points, but I think that is also what another poster is saying. There have bben some kids that work hard and have developed, dedicated and never get an opportunity, while others don't develop, couldn't careless or miss out on practice to hang out with friends, yet these are the ones on the A-1st teams. Some clubs promise player movement, that rarely happens because it then dipletes the level of the second teams, they don't want that, to much work for them to help continue the development of that player instead just get somebody from the outside to fill in, no headaches, but they want and get credit for doing nothing. Some because and yes this has happened, the team manager doesn't like or want them to over shadow their kid, doesn't matter that the kid is good can bring something to the team, not a good fit for her so guess what your not even considered. Players are not being evaluated correctly on aspects of how soccer-futebol, should be played, by age and level. Coaches, don't look to see if any of them have any fundamentals, most kids do not, but if they can kick the ball, know what direction the goal is, build like a football player, great.

The girls are developed as they leave club and move to college. Currently Grubka and Hahn are at FSU and ask them if they got full rides as freshmen. The answer is ? and the reality is that on the current list of FSU 2012 recruits there are 6 Florida girls including 1 from Space Coast/Titusville, and that is great but not much different than other top Clubs.
One more thing, in the Top Drawer 100 Collegiate Women rankings, lil 'ol SCU had two players with Katie ranking #6. Lakeland had 3 players make it. None, zero, zip from the OCYS conglomerate. Actually not one single player from Central Florida.

You think it is a coincidence the best in the best in the country all come from the same small club in Satellite Beach.

How many of these players were at SCU from U9 or U10? None. they were developed elsewhere and recruited by SCU.
