Are you completely committed to playing college soccer?
Are you physically fit enough to play at an elite level?
Are you an elite player (self evaluation required)?
Are your grades good enough for college entry?
Are your test scores (SAT & ACT) good enough for college entry?
Are you willing to give up social activities to play elite soccer?
Can you afford to miss 6-10 days of school to play at ECNL events?
Can we as a family afford the $4500 to $7500 that ECNL will cost?
Can you handle the pressure that comes with college recruitment?

Unless you can unwaveringly answer in the affirmative on all of these, my opinion is ECNL may not be the best fit for your daughter.

    ECNL requires an "all-in" commitment.
Sobering, but true. I think a lot of parents will be surprised when they find out Suzy won't be playing HS ball, or marching in the band, or participating in the drama competitions.

ECNL is a different level of commitment.

I "know" that ECNL was very aware of what transpired. I know they were very awre of what Orlando City brings to the table. If you think they would have given ECNL to HM without OC then you are either misguided or just nuts.

Honestly ... if you knew nothing other than two things it should spell it out pretty loud and clear. The first being the "Florida" decsions were delayed for a few weeks unexplainably. Secondly the two Florida selections were going through mergers with professional organizations during that time. Coincidence? I think not.
There was no "delay" by ECNL in deciding Florida clubs. Clubs were informed per ECNL schedule. Clubs were required to accept by march 15. Announcements were made within a week.

What are you talking about? Are you just making this up as you go along?

It's funny how some of the old FSA'ers are trying to claim credit for the ECNL when they had nothing do with it. Gee, OC buys us and that's why we got ECNL. LOL! CFK earned it and HM deserves a lot of credit why CFK got it. Now let's be one big happy family...LOL

That's not how many of the CFK families think. I can only speak for those in our immediate circle (i won't be presumptious and claim "all CFK families")- but the folks I know are happy about the merger with FSA. Lots of good people and lots of talent. Most of the kids go to school together, and I think things will be great.

I think lots of people from other clubs are trying to create friction. I think they are concerned that FSA+CFK = the largest, most prestigious, professionally run club in central Florida. I think they're concerned about talent draining away from their own clubs.

TS Troll but if you read between the lines you can detect slight british accent. Who stands to benefit the most from slandering OCYS and making appear as though there are issues. The next club in line....FCA. Carry On Mate!

That's one way to look at it. The other way is it's going to be the most expensive club in CF
with the same coaches that have been in this area for many years and the politics are going to be out in full force. Hope Johnny and MIA don't get relegated to the B/C Teams or WWIII
is going to break out. And no, everyone from our team is coming back next year and has no interest in leaving our club.

Very good advice. Seems to me ECNL forces soccer to be your kids top priority. For my daughter her education is primary. Soccer is a great game and teaches wonderful life lessons but it is not my kids "life."

I think there are many parents and daughters at CFK/FSA facing this issue, but are afraid to discuss it. For HM's select few it is great opportunity.

Exactly how is this newly formed club who has yet to do anything the most prestigious, professionally run club in central florida. What basis do you have to go on that they are those things since they have not done anything yet. (granted it doesn't take much to be more professionally than any club in central florida) I just don't get how everyone is claiming they are the end all be all and they haven't done anything yet. For all you know they could come out and say it will be $3000 for rec, $4000 for region and $6000 for state cup teams, plus all parents must help on fridays cutting the grass with scissors.

There is no body of evidence anyone can present to ECNL about a youth club called 'OCYS"- no records, no training, no coaching roster, not even a club membership list (other than the FSA roster). To say otherwise is to defy the facts and common sense.

You are making it up. You have an axe to grind, so you're spreading falsehoods.
This "tit for tat" is ASININE.

What does it matter? OCYS has been invited to be in ECNL and OCYS has accepted the invitation.

Those who choose to dwell on the "how, the who and the why" are getting started on the wrong foot. Let that which has transpired be bygones and move forward!

This is the majority of the thinking going on between CFK and FSA. It's people concerned with their own separate agendas trying to stir the pot. Just laugh and move on. It's actually pretty sad.

And I think you are VERY presumptious.

"Largest"? By the simple mathematical exercise of FSA membership + CFK membership, a given.

"Most prestigious"? "Most professionally run club"? Other than holding Super-Y tryouts, OCYS has done NOTHING yet to demonstrate prestige or professionalism.

                              Good grief!

OCYS did not apply to ECNL. OCYS did not get accepted to ECNL.

If you understood the TWO YEARS of work, planning, changes, and genuine effort that went into getting the ECNL bid, you would understand why it's important that facts are facts. If it doesn't matter to you, fine. At least have the courtesy to defer to those who think it IS IMPORTANT to credit the people who actually achieved something. I don't care if you think it's not important, or meaningless, or doesnt matter or whatever. It matters to me.
