Ok there's two clubs doing it right....the rest in GDA is no better if not worse than the better ECNL clubs. That's the problem - too many leagues/clubs for the number of talented players and quality coaches. Consolidation is the only want to improve the end product

But there's no money in that!

Really? I dont know one single family that wants to travel to an event across the country. Not one. Would probably pay more if the top league was regional.

Really? Who doesn't want the opportunity to see the country and watch some games, too?

We've been to Florida, Colorado, California, Oregon, Kansas, Maryland, and Virginia for games. Had a blast doing it. We will try to tack on a day or two on the back-end to see the sites where we wouldn't have otherwise.

Just consider it a family vacation and get on with it.

Not on my team. Full of families with multiple busy kids and almost to a person, want less travel. Travel is fine. Too much travel for youth soccer is a big negative. Tolerated but not preferred.

Well obviously you can afford it. We cannot

P.S. if I were you I would be looking elsewhere, the 2 DA keepers will split all over he time.
What are you even talking about? If your daughter is on a DA team, how is she playing against those teams? Your post makes no sense at all and what about the goalies? There are more than 2 and the one that is the 04 NT goalie only gets called in because they are paying someone with connections. The other 04 goalie is the real deal though. She can play for sure

Does your family take vacations? Where do you go?

The travel for regular season play I have a gripe with.

But, for the tournaments, I don't mind at all.

Look, most think youth soccer requires way too much travel and drives good players away. Glad that you love it but you are in the minority.

                        You didn't answer my question.

Does your family take vacations? Disney, the beach, skiing, Bahamas, etc.?

Sure. We are off to the Bahamas all the time. Hard to fit in the soccer stuff with all the jet setting.

I personally have never been, except for a work trip long ago.

So, your family doesn't take vacations then?

                              It's a serious question.

I gave a serious answer. The travel is a big burden in time and money and the sport would be better off for everyone except the youth soccer industrial complex if it were drastically reduced. You dont need to get this from some schmuck on TS. There are dozens of experts that say the same thing. Google away.
