In CT, OW and Sporting are not doing anything together in the future other than Sporting playing in the OW indoor league. To add a third ECNL team in CT would continue to dilute very thin waters. There needs to be even a little more consolidation in ECNL after GDA goes away to make it a truly elite league. The goal should be that no ECNL teams should be challenged by any outside teams. Right now there are plenty of NPL level teams that can beat ECNL or GDA teams.

It is pretty clear NE GDA is crashing quickly. US Soccer made a huge mistake by allowing Fury to have two teams in an area where there are so many options to play. By having LISC, Alby, and Fury on the Island, they made it average instead of special. They did the same allowing NYSC in at the last minute in the first year. Again diminishing the quality of games.
GDA started of as a great idea in concept. I thought for sure it was the way to go. I do believe that many average players who chose to play GDA over HS ball really did improve by playing with the very strong players who joined as well. The problem is that those really strong players did not get better. Take a look at our players who have not been called back to NT camps since they began playing in the GDA Or those who were initially invited in the first year, after strong performances with their former clubs, many have not been invited back.

Why do you think the MLS teams are pulling out of the BDA? The competition level outside of other MLS clubs is so watered down, that it does them no good to play those teams. You can’t run tryouts, have 2 kids show up, and strengthen your team. Don’t forget US Soccer is adding the extra age group next year, how will you have enough players for that oldest age group next year without watering down your team

Too many leagues around to consolidate talent . It is obvious that consolidating talent is not the point. It seems clear that the point is to run a successful business. All these leagues just need enough players to stay in biz. Development of talent is a side show and not driving the ship. It is frustrating but it is reality.
