Good question, next year it will more compicated than last 2 down, first 2 up a flight. At U11 EDP and coaches appear to be more willing to travel. This year's U11 groups are more georgraphically diverse. Coach's flight requests also play a role. If you look at 2010s EDP Central Atlantic Premier Blue and Red flight, they are a mix of teams. If you are to go on Spring 2011 form, maybe it looks something like this (minus NY clubs & SJEB Red & Futboltech):
Premier Blue I:
1 The Football Academy Black
2 NY Red Bulls Pre Academy Red
3 CSA Bergen Pre Academy
4 CSA Bergen White II
5 Union Selecao Blue
6 Match Fit Howard
7 Liverpool Central
8 PDA Puyol
9 CSA Monmouth
10 Valencia
11 RCD Espanyol Elite
Premier Red I:
1 NYRB Gray
2 Elite Plainfield Strikers
3 Ironbound Force
4 STA MUSC Pre ECNL
5 Bloomfield Barcelona
6 Europa Lions FC
7 Titanes Chicharitos
8 AS Junior Elite
9 TSF Pre Academy
10 PSA Princeton Elite
11 Morris Elite Pre USL
Premier II
1 Match Fit Montclair
2 Kearny Dynamo
3 Summit Chelsea
4 Berkeley Jersey Shore United
5 The Football Acaemy Gold
6 Match Fit Pre ECNL
7 NJ Premier FC
8 Sportfriends Man City
9 FC Copa Millstone Black
10 NJ Stallions
11 Bridgewater SA

same teams in conference?
Will the teams and/or EDP allow the same programs to have multiple teams in the same conference? I guess CSA had Hudson and Bergen last year.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThere is no "North" at u11. The top flight is Central Atlantic Premier 1 Blue then next is Central Atlantic Premier 1 Red. It now becomes the actual top teams throughout the state vs each other instead of just by location.

Liverpool is very central so don’t be surprised if you have kids trying out for them. If anything, the two teams you mentioned are gaining players not losing them.
But in all fairness I don’t know if union or Liverpool play in anything above EDP...if they do than yes they were bad examples. If not I would not be surprised to see the better players moving to team like STA, Copa and even Morris Elite.

Bottom line central and south division only have 1 or two teams that can play against top teams in the north/premier division.
The current North Blue Flight has 8 teams and you are dropping 2. That leaves you with 6.. you are now 5 teams short for the u11 age group flights of 11 teams each. I think there are probably 2 teams from the south and probably 4 from Central that can play with the 1st and 2nd flight in North Jersey. Once you drop into the 3rd flight in the current north jersey flights the teams levels drop a lot, same with Central Jersey once you drop into the 2nd Flight.

I guess the better question is what are the requirements for a club to compete in the MLS Next league? At what age group does that start and how many top kids do you think will stick around playing for a small team and lose the chance and the experience to play against top competition in the MLS Next league.
