I bet those teams complaining about the field length and width would do absolutely terrible in futsal lol

Just follow the rules or forfeit if you can’t provide the correct environment for the kids to play correctly and safely.

Let’s build a positive soccer community and give credit where it’s due
So I will be the first parent on this thread to actually give a positive critique about an opposing team!!! I was very impressed with the style of play from ASJE. Their ball movement, ball distribution, passing and moving off the ball was very fun to watch. Although the field size is of question I won’t discredit the play of soccer. Going down 2-4 to ASJE we made the adjustments needed to tie the game ending 4-4. We took advantage of the short field and shot the ball right from kickoff toward the goal to get back in the game. Instead of complaining about the field size and make excuses I believe our coach tried to take advantage of the situation with our bigger stronger boys. Some of the kids on ASJE are 2012s with a bright future ahead of them. From their Center back having great field vision to the kid with the ponytail’s burst of speed to block shots I was impressed. But for whoever watched the game let’s be honest... their small goalie won the game for them! Put another goalie in his place and Liverpool would have won big time. He made outstanding saves... and again I believe we need more positive comments on this thread instead of bashing teams and kids. The more clubs we can have that’s competitive the better for NJYS instead of everyone running to CSA For just their name. I can’t wait to face ASJE on a regular size grass field next year.

Asje field
I agree on all fronts, the field is small and suits asje’s game, but take nothing away from their solid soccer. Next year will change a lot for the 11s moving to a bigger field. The spread between the top teams and the next level will be big at first, those teams having experience on the bigger field. Speed will become a huge factor I think.

And not only is it true - it all needs to be said too.
There are many times negative things need to be said but way too many people refuse to see positive things in other teams or clubs.
Again, very well said.

That being said, I saw ASJE play on a big field and still possessed great ball movement. They just lack the natural big athletic type. But it’s obvious their training is making up for size.
Let’s see what other players these teams recruit between now and August. Let’s keep the competition and positivity so Northern Nj can continue to be regarded as a Top soccer programs.
Any good summer camps anyone recommends that’s non bias to just one club?

CSA B to 3rd
Sorry no way csa b go to the 3rd bracket and not putting csa with FA/RB at the top is a miss.
I think with the bigger Programs there is a deeper bench which will further separate the top level teams
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI couldn’t agree anymore either. After FA and Redbulls there is a HUGE separation from the next grouping in the top flights. PDA, Liverpool, ASJE, and STA are in another category. CSA B, and Morris Elite should probably and will end up in the 3rd flight for the fall season.

Right now there B team is compiled of a huge mix of different levels.
I agree that CSA A team will and should be in the top flight next season with the likes of clubs FA/Redbulls but what was mentioned in a prior post was comparing the current teams in the top flight. ( which CSA A team is not because they are playing 9v9 along with Union.
Let’s try not to talk about CSA anymore because they don’t need anymore attention. Let’s give credit to the PDAs, Liverpool’s, ASJE and STAs for producing some exiting games this season. With recognition and positive reinforcement let’s help these clubs build more competitive teams to take away from the over charged bigger name pay for play clubs.
And going back to another previous post I also agree it would be nice to group all the central top teams together and maybe EDP can create a playoff scenario so the top teams from each region could face each other. I understand this is “futures” but let’s get creative otherwise kids will start leaving for only MLSnext and ECNL teams.

The Juniors Elite field is small so any foul was pretty much a free kick... Liverpool does have a couple kids that shoot from far. It’s just another weapon added to their game. And maybe you didn’t get a chance to see it but they have scored from the kick off more than once in a real game. If the goalie is off his line then why not.

Because shooting from kickoff is a cheap tactic that will probably never work next year 9v9 and will definitely not work 11v11. You're valuing winning over developing real skill. The coach is showing that he doesn't believe in the actual skills of his players. What happens when they are no longer the bigger and stronger kids?
