      than who would move up

There is a lot of soccer still left to be played, so that is ytbd. But assuming that holds true, who would move up?

EDP is only has divisions based on geographical location for the futures age divisions. Next year the top South Jersey teams and Central Jersey teams can now be in the same divisions as the top North Jersey teams. So the north Jersey teams will be split up some more instead of only playing each other. Also some NY teams may join into the divisions.

Also next year starts the thinning of the lesser teams. So the top teams usually start to gain the best players from the teams that drop down. This is where you will see the Union’s and Liverpool type teams start to Locke back to reality.

Good question, next year it will more compicated than last 2 down, first 2 up a flight. At U11 EDP and coaches appear to be more willing to travel. This year's U11 groups are more georgraphically diverse. Coach's flight requests also play a role. If you look at 2010s EDP Central Atlantic Premier Blue and Red flight, they are a mix of teams. If you are to go on Spring 2011 form, maybe it looks something like this (minus NY clubs & SJEB Red & Futboltech):
            Premier Blue I:
            1 The Football Academy Black
2 NY Red Bulls Pre Academy Red
            3 CSA Bergen Pre Academy
            4 CSA Bergen White II
            5 Union Selecao Blue
            6 Match Fit Howard
            7 Liverpool Central
            8 PDA Puyol
            9 CSA Monmouth
            10 Valencia
            11 RCD Espanyol Elite

            Premier Red I:
            1 NYRB Gray
            2 Elite Plainfield Strikers
            3 Ironbound Force
            4 STA MUSC Pre ECNL
            5 Bloomfield Barcelona
            6 Europa Lions FC
            7 Titanes Chicharitos
            8 AS Junior Elite
            9 TSF Pre Academy
            10 PSA Princeton Elite
            11 Morris Elite Pre USL

            Premier II
            1 Match Fit Montclair
            2 Kearny Dynamo
            3 Summit Chelsea
            4 Berkeley Jersey Shore United

Reality will set in when teams that left the 2011 top bracket play their own age group and have to play top level in the fall and that's if they even try to come back to the 2011 group. The North will be dominated by FA - CSA - RBs. It will be a matter of which mid table teams can scavenge points to stay alive. Red Bulls will continue to recruit away the top players thinning out the rest of the teams and smaller clubs like Liverpool/Union/FA will begin to lose players since there will not be a pathway for the players long term. Around the u12 age group you will see the shift and the small town teams will drop down and dissappear into the lower level brackets. It was a fun of ride for those smaller clubs while it lasted but parents will figure where their kids have the best chance of long term opportunities.

                same teams in conference?

Will the teams and/or EDP allow the same programs to have multiple teams in the same conference? I guess CSA had Hudson and Bergen last year.

I’m not sure what you mean by this but you didn’t do your homework. This year Union picked up two top Kids from clubs that had some internal issues. Liverpool is very central so don’t be surprised if you have kids trying out for them. If anything, the two teams you mentioned are gaining players not losing them.

There is no "North" at u11. The top flight is Central Atlantic Premier 1 Blue then next is Central Atlantic Premier 1 Red. Central Atlantic Premier II is 3rd. Central Atlantic Premier III Blue and then Red round out the top 5 flights. Its no longer only north teams playing north teams and south teams playing south teams. It now becomes the actual top teams throughout the state vs each other instead of just by location.

That’s pretty much what the north division is right now. Premier will be almost identical to what the north is now with the exception of the bottom two teams. If the team is good enough they can play North division if they can hang. Bottom line central and south division only have 1 or two teams that can play against top teams in the north/premier division.

I think you’re being too bullish on these teams. They max out at EDP level teams. Parents of kids who are more talented are going to start to move to teams that play in higher leagues. Everyone is going to say that those teams are poaching players but the truth is the parent go voluntarily in many cases because those teams offer more exposure vs better competition.

But in all fairness I don’t know if union or Liverpool play in anything above EDP...if they do than yes they were bad examples. If not I would not be surprised to see the better players moving to team like STA, Copa and even Morris Elite.

The current North Blue Flight has 8 teams and you are dropping 2. That leaves you with 6.. you are now 5 teams short for the u11 age group flights of 11 teams each. I think there are probably 2 teams from the south and probably 4 from Central that can play with the 1st and 2nd flight in North Jersey. Once you drop into the 3rd flight in the current north jersey flights the teams levels drop a lot, same with Central Jersey once you drop into the 2nd Flight.

I guess the better question is what are the requirements for a club to compete in the MLS Next league? At what age group does that start and how many top kids do you think will stick around playing for a small team and lose the chance and the experience to play against top competition in the MLS Next league.

It's a good program with good trainers, the 2011 team seems to be average for travel soccer at this age.
