The vast majority will either have zero or have to accept less money, less academics and less quality of soccer just to play. Is it worth it for 2-3 years? It’s sad & pathetic when I read a TS parent say”it’s tougher on me than her right now”. That is so wrong on so many fronts and shows you how damaging these parents can be who live vicariously thru there daughters soccer. These kids now have to live with the added pressure of a parent who is disappointed they are not living to their parents expectations. These players understand the reality that they are just not good enough and they learn to deal with this reality. Unfortunately you have parents who lack the maturity to be supportive of their daughter whatever “they” decide. The transfer portal is a lifeline for a very few good players and the end of the road for the vast majority. TS parents will always find an excuse for someone else to blame.
More than just a little melodramatic, isn't it?

I love soccer. I love my kid. I love to watch my kid play soccer. I also know here career will live outside of soccer. I've been very clear that when the time comes to stop playing, she has my full support. She's the one wanting to push herself out of her comfort zone. If that makes me a bad parent, so be it. I'm perfectly comfortable with that designation if that's your rule.

Not sure who/how we are looking for someone else to blame?

Some of you are pretty wild in the directions you take some of these comments.

Club Soccer tuition $3k a year...Traveling for said soccer club events $10k a year...Personal computer $1k... Taking things personally from anonymous people on TS ---- PRICELESS!

Kids who stretch too much usually wind up with little to no PT

Again, nobody likes her not playing. How is this a hard concept to understand? This is definitely more than one dense poster in here...what has happened to my home state?

Well, in summary, true. So, she has what I see are three choices:

                      1) Fight for a spot which is what she intended and is coming to fruition. She would LIKE to win that spot next year.
                      2) Transfer - which I doubt she'll do because she loves the school and is doing very well there
                      3) Quit - we all know that is coming for every player some day

More importantly, what about that ties your panties in a knot?
