What are the 5-6 colleges in your area that you are referring to that are better options than RU?

PSU, Villanova , UPenn, Princeton, St. Joe’s, Lehigh, even Bucknell University, and if she wants to play D3 but attend a great school academically you can add additional 5 to 6 schools.

Sure I do. My kid played b-ball with her. She wanted to be close to home. GA was not very good about it. How's that azzhat.

Likely your kid not good enough to attend and play soccer. Stay in PA.

You forgot to add Slippery Rock, Pitt, Lehigh, Kutztown, Gettysburg, LaSalle, Juniata, Neumann, Cabrini and Messiah. Keep it going.

They are told unless you have a PDA connection or are a NJ resident you may not see much playing time or receive financial assistance. Somethings are just what they are lesser opportunities. That is not Rutgers setting them up to purposely fail, just not providing as much opportunity. Of course you will give opportunity to products you have seen for years in your own state. “Go with what you know” it’s how the system works. Out of state players are less inclined to commit if they see most non Jersey players as “support” or back up players. And there will always be exceptions to the trend, but a handful compared to other institutions
Hmmmm kickbacks...?? Makes ya wonder. Or maybe good kids from other states realize the affiliation with PDA and or the poor coaching etc and say I'm out

Maybe the club coaches are steering players elsewhere because of their affiliations. And don't want their club competition, pda, promoting their product. Then they loose kids. I have seen it happen.

PDA isn’t the issue when it comes to Rutgers. It’s the ACC and SEC, Penn st. Other BiG 10 schools besides Rutgers. This is where the most talented PDA players want to play. Those same players would undoubtedly make a big difference if they stayed and played at Rutgers

Very true. Stay home, get playing time and help your state.

Btw- RU is fairly new to Big10; always in conf tourney and always in ncaa's. Even Duke and UVa can't say that this year.

You are wrong again. I responded to your question and give you 5-6 schools that are better options for the PA girls than RU and that is your response. Pathetic.

PSU, Princeton, UPenn are all “reach schools” for 99% of high schoolers. Both Ivy’s are about academics and soccer. If your daughter is fortunate to be a 1% (highly unlikely given your post) then those others colleges are your prerogative if you think that’s a better fit for your PA daughter. Why are St. Joe, Villanova, Lehigh, Bucknell better options then P5 conference RU?

IF you are claiming the better PDA players go elsewhere, please name the ones on other P5 teams having success and playing right now?

You are still continuing with personal attacks and making assumptions about my kid and her academic and sports capabilities based on my posts which make you an assh..e.
Second RU, would be a "reach school" for 99% of kids based on their soccer skills (see your comment about the PSU being a "reach school"), it is basically the same, except PSU is better option for kids from PA.
Villanova, Lehigh and Bucknell are better options because they are better schools. 99.9% of kids will not play soccer on professional level after the college graduation. Graduating with a degree from Villanova, Lehigh or Bucknell University, will open you more doors than RU degree.
The acceptance rates for these 3 schools are 25%, 46% and 34% respectively while RU is 68%. Next, kid from PA that can make a RU soccer team, will also be able to start on any of these three schools teams as a freshman and play 4 years instead a year or two at RU.
Last, my kids have been playing on an ECNL team since U13, before that on elite team since U8, at the one of the top two PA clubs. She is also being recruited by a three Ivy league schools.

Current bracket predictions have 9 in SEC and Big10, down to five in ACC.

Seems like being in the Big 10 is the place to be

You are showing your personal biases against RU by stating your truth that degrees by those other colleges will open more doors than RU. I guess that’s your opinion. Take note that when it comes to acceptance rates RU is a state university with a commitment to state students just like UNC, UVA and other state schools. Could care less about your situation and your assumptions about NJ students who attend a State school. Regardless, the RU program is a higher level program than your PA Colleges.

Wasn't my question, but continue to fight the windmills. I am in PA and had a great meeting with RU reps. You know people transfer from PA schools too and some to RU.

no one answer to any of this. Pick whatever works for you and your family.
