Again, it’s highly speculative to say the odds of winning are higher if the team plays well regardless of the opponent. There is a soccer pyramid that takes effect. If a top 20 team plays a top mid major club and the mid major club plays well against a top 20 team the talent level is so much greater regardless how well the mid major team is playing. The quality and difference in talent is too much. Your “regardless of opponents” does not take in account the depth and quality of talent. Maybe you should rethink it again.

A mid major team playing their best against a higher level of talent and getting their *** kicked in reality didn't play well.
And the majority (other than a few) mid major teams can't play well even against themselves/lesser opponents.
Not a difficult concept for most. I understand the new world order thinks everything and everyone is special but that just isn't the case.

perhaps they need a bit more real player development at the Rutgers academy, and not over focus on winning and recruiting at younger ages?
