    Democrats Are Blowing It, Again

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/12/o...tion%2Fopinion

Nate Cohn, The Times’s polling guru: “Take everything together, and, on balance, it’s been a good 10 days of state/cd polling for the GOP in a lot of important battlegrounds.”

The “cd” refers to congressional districts, where Republicans now have at least a fighting chance of holding on to a majority despite the widely anticipated blue wave. Even better are Republican chances of holding the Senate. On Sept. 30, RealClearPolitics gave the G.O.P. a lock on 47 seats, with 9 tossups. Now it’s 50 and 6, with races in Tennessee, Texas, and North Dakota increasingly leaning right. Donald Trump’s approval rating is also up from a month ago.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. Not during a midterm when the opposition party almost always gains seats. Not after 21 months of Trumpian chaos. Not after a year of #MeToo. Not after Christine Blasey Ford’s emotional testimony and Brett Kavanaugh’s angry retort.

Posobiec later said he had always thought the Pizzagate theory was "stupid" and had filmed his visit to debunk it.[4]

In December 2017, Posobiec, along with Cernovich, The Gateway Pundit, and InfoWars, promoted a false theory that a passenger train derailment near Dupont, Washington was linked to the Antifa anti-fascism movement.[21]

Posobiec has frequently tweeted about the white genocide conspiracy theory,[22][23]

Accusing someone of being gay on “coming out say” is the epitome of homophobia. The left is eating itself.

Democrats and the liberal media are afraid of Kanye West. What else explains their behavior?

                https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...=.6767c263bc40

Has the bizarre relationship between President Trump and Kanye West struck a nerve or what? Rather than have the discipline to ignore this bromance, the tiresome Democrats and their phony leftist allies in the media have overreacted and given credibility where very little is due. I’ve never been much of a West fan but the reaction to West befriending Trump has certainly got my attention. Democrats and their allies are quite literally having a fit that is making them tremble and sputter and say things that are inexcusable..... Heaven forbid a successful, independent, young African American with a huge social media following would get out of line and gleefully support Trump. Watching the liberals panic has been kind of fun.... It’s not that the left disagrees with West’s ideas on prison reform — assuming he does have a comprehensible view — it’s just that they just can’t stand to see him embrace the president they loathe.

The NY Times article about Beto that admits he will lose and is wasting money needed for other campaigns. They cited plenty of polling data except their own poll showing him losing by 8. Instead, they focus on his future as a presidential candidate. Seriously delusional.

This one is for TMan/The Perfesser. The talk of academia this week.

From dog rape to white men in chains: We fooled the biased academic left with fake studies

                          https://www.usatoday.com/story/opini...mn/1575219002/

'Grievance studies' have taken over academic inquiry into race, gender, and sexuality. Today's scholarship is often just sexism and racism repackaged.

"We did this as a part of a year-long probe to find out how much certain political biases have taken root within a small but powerful sector of academia. Over the course of that year, we submitted 20 papers to journals that study topics of identity like gender, race, and sexuality, which we feared has been corrupted by a form of political activism that puts political grievances ahead of finding truth.

We believe we’ve uncovered evidence that points to a significant cultural problem that starts with scholarship and extends far beyond the academy. This is because what’s taking place within certain university disciplines is a kind of idea laundering. Under these circumstances, aggrieved academics can put broken, biased, and even openly racist and sexist ideas through the peer-review process, and have them come out the other side legitimized as though they are established knowledge.

As we observed in our own research for this project, the laundered ideas often take a cynically biased perspective on men, masculinity, heterosexuality and whiteness.

So far, this process has been going on within certain politicized corners of the university without adequate checks and balances for decades. As a result, many of these broken and hurtful ideas have seeped out of the university and become part of our everyday lives.

Concepts like “toxic masculinity,” “white fragility,” “cultural appropriation,” and “microaggressions” are now familiar to many of us. Most people, however, don’t realize that these concepts originated within academic journals just like those that accepted our papers. Those journals laundered them through a broken system, leading them to be picked up by journalists, activists, HR departments, and policy makers as though they’re some kind of established truth."

                            #Liberalhypocrisy

Hillary Clinton vehemently denied in an interview Sunday that her husband’s extramarital affair with then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky was an abuse of power and added that former President Bill Clinton was right not to resign amid a scandal that led to his impeachment on perjury and obstruction charges.

“Absolutely not,” the former first lady said*during the CBS "Sunday Morning" interview when asked if Bill Clinton should have stepped down.

“It wasn't an abuse of power?” CBS News correspondent*Tony Dokoupil asked.

                            Clinton responded: “No. No.”

Hillary Clinton, who went on to be elected to the Senate and served as President Obama’s secretary of state, said the relationship was not an abuse of power because Lewinsky “was an adult.” At the time of the affair, Lewinsky was 22.
