That stat comes from academics concerned by the lack of diversity of thought on campus, most of whom represent real liberals, not illiberals like you. Look up Heterodox Academy.

And would you like to know the reason for the shift according to some of those real liberals who have actually studied the issue? Following WWII thanks to the GI bill there was more diversity of thought on campus. Still liberals held the majority, especially within the liberal arts, but up until the 90s the ratio of liberals to conservatives was around 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 at most. In the 90s those post war professors began to retire and they were replaced by Viet Nam era professors, many of whom pursued advanced degrees to avoid the draft. In other words, the professors of the Greatest Generation who felt it their duty to serve in the military were replaced by draft dodgers.

Since the 90s the ratio of liberals to conservative professors is between 12/14 to 1 except in New England where a study by a professor at Sarah Lawrence indicates the ratio to be 28 to 1. Other studies indicate that conservatives tend to pursue majors that result in an MBA or directly to a job after graduation rather than pursuing a PhD. This has created an echo chamber of liberal, now illiberal, thought on American campuses.

French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a rousing speech to US congress Wednesday, throwing not-so-subtle shade at his host while defending globalism, liberty, and science.

Macron began his speech by discussing the shared history of the United States and France and then moved into a full-throated defense of globalism and freedom.

Macron said the solution is “the opposite of deregulation and extreme nationalism.”

Throughout, he received warm applause from the assembly, including a standing ovation when he said that “the illusion of nationalism” should not be allowed to force the Western world back into the Dark Ages.

He got specific, too.

“I believe we can build the right answers,” he said, “by negotiating through the World Trade Organization… We wrote these rules, we should follow them.”

Two New Jersey police officers -- who remained calm and professional while a former Hillary Clinton financial adviser ranted and raved during a routine traffic stop last month -- are being lauded for their “verbal judo” during the tense interaction.


The video shows Turner being verbally abusive toward the officers, saying at one point, "You may not tell me when to take my child. You may shut the f--- up and not tell me when I may take my kid and her friends, who are Ph.D. students from MIT and Yale.”



It all started when the officers pulled over a vehicle in which Turner's daughter had been riding with some friends.

The officers decided to impound the vehicle because the driver could not provide proof of updated insurance or registration, NorthJersey.com reported.

Turner, who was called to the scene by her daughter, took over the negotiation with the officers.

During the exchange with the officers, Turner appears increasingly hostile in the video as she boasts of her rank, demands they call her “commissioner” rather than “miss,” and threatens to complain to their boss.

Yet the officers remain calm and polite throughout the unpleasant ordeal.

On Wednesday, Turner apologized for her behavior.

"I let my emotions get the better of me and regret my tone toward the police officers and use of off-color language," she said in a written statement.

"As a long-time Tenafly resident, I have always taken an active role in the community, including working with law enforcement officials, and I encourage the Tenafly Police Department to review best practices with respect to tone and de-escalation, so that incidents like this do not recur."
