    Bwahahaha!

A fine example of our school systems.

I love it when a smug liberal embarrasses himself.

What was your point again dumb Russian troll?

      Enough. Back to macron
Add TX and FL into that as well. I know so many people who have moved to both states and ended up putting all their kids in private school, wiping out the savings they got moving to lower cost of living states. They all said they didn't fully grasp how much better the schools were in MA until they had something to compare it to.

Are you suggesting a quota for cons? You know ....give them access they haven’t earned?

That’s lesson #1. Good scholars are consistent unlike you who obviously sees things very differently ....

That stat comes from academics concerned by the lack of diversity of thought on campus, most of whom represent real liberals, not illiberals like you. Look up Heterodox Academy.

And would you like to know the reason for the shift according to some of those real liberals who have actually studied the issue? Following WWII thanks to the GI bill there was more diversity of thought on campus. Still liberals held the majority, especially within the liberal arts, but up until the 90s the ratio of liberals to conservatives was around 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 at most. In the 90s those post war professors began to retire and they were replaced by Viet Nam era professors, many of whom pursued advanced degrees to avoid the draft. In other words, the professors of the Greatest Generation who felt it their duty to serve in the military were replaced by draft dodgers.

Since the 90s the ratio of liberals to conservative professors is between 12/14 to 1 except in New England where a study by a professor at Sarah Lawrence indicates the ratio to be 28 to 1. Other studies indicate that conservatives tend to pursue majors that result in an MBA or directly to a job after graduation rather than pursuing a PhD. This has created an echo chamber of liberal, now illiberal, thought on American campuses.

Apparently you didn't bother to read any of the NAEP links. Like I keep saying, the ignorance of the left knows no bounds and you keep proving it.

CT and RI have been their own special sh*t shows of poor governance and corruption. IL, CA and NY are huge states that skew Dem because of big cities but have large swaths of GOP voters especially in rural communities. Their state legislatures are filled with GOP reps making bad decisions. HI has always been tough because of its extraordinarily high cost of living and more limited economic growth and reliance on tourism.

Pretty sure those GOP areas are scoring higher than the DEM areas. Just look at the demographic results.

Only 37 percent of 12th-graders tested proficient or better in reading, and only 25 percent did so in math. Among black students, only 17 percent tested proficient or better in reading, and just 7 percent reached at least a proficient level in math.

The atrocious National Assessment of Educational Progress performance is only a fraction of the bad news. Nationally, our high school graduation rate is over 80 percent. That means high school diplomas, which attest that these students can read and compute at a 12th-grade level, are conferred when 63 percent are not proficient in reading and 75 percent are not proficient in math.

For blacks, the news is worse. Roughly 75 percent of black students received high school diplomas attesting that they could read and compute at the 12th-grade level. However, 83 percent could not read at that level, and 93 percent could not do math at that level.
Then we shove all these unprepared kids into a college education they are ill prepared for. Some shouldn't go to college at all but college path helps improve a public school's statistics. Colleges have had to ramp up their "remedial" classes and support for students. Many drop out. Most, regardless of outcome, are taking on more debt than they can ever pay off and landing jobs that don't pay well. College used to be the golden ticket. Now it's becoming the equivalent of a HS diploma - something you have to have but is no guarantee of anything and will cost you a fortune to obtain.

You can't prove that to be true. You'd have to got through the results of math, reading, science and writing at three different grade levels to prove that to be true. The fact of the matter is there are red states among the top and some major blue states at the bottom and the comparison of Indiana and Illinois in all those 4 disciplines at all three grade levels underscores that point.

So, we force a kid into college, have them major in a discipline that isn't hiring, they can't pay, enact legislation where it's free college for all (or at the minimum debt-forgiveness), send them out with a piece of paper which is good to wipe their azz with at best.

Meanwhile there are high-paying jobs where you actually have to do a little work that can't get people to sign up for. Yet, let's try to use those who take this route as somehow being 'undesirable'.

                        Seems like a great plan.

Ever see the documentary Race to Nowhere? They had an interview of an admissions director at a top California college (whose name eludes me at the moment) indicate they are admitting kids with supposedly top grades who are requiring remedial assistance as freshman. IIRC it was 25% of the incoming class at a top college!

Bill casually encouraged Trump to run, thinking his candidacy would roil the Republican field,” Chozick wrote. “For all his political foresight, Bill spent most of the primaries oblivious that this reality TV schmo could win the Republican nomination.”
