Correct - everything we need to know about you and your failure to see the obvious.

Keep that head in the sand.

Same answer as before, when Clinton releases her Goldman Sachs transcripts.

Have seen the polls today in Florida, Ohio And Pennsylvania?

A man wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt allegedly fired 17 shots into an officer’s patrol car and home as he screamed that he hates police, according to investigators.
The targeted officer had just arrived home from work when the gunshots, fired from a 9mm handgun, rang out. The officer and his family weren’t hurt in the attack.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said surveillance video captured a vehicle speeding away from the scene at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, according to reports. Hours later, officers pulled over a vehicle matching the description and arrested March Eugene Ratney in connection to the shooting.

The suspect reportedly became furious during his interrogation, allegedly urinating in the interrogation room and cursing at officers. However, he denied being involved in the shooting.

Police said they found two guns and shell casings at the home where Ratney was living and planned to search his vehicle as well

I say we let him go - he is the victim after all...
Another was shot dead when he invaded the police officer's home. Fortunately the officer was off duty because his wife and children were being threatened. And the guy who invaded the home was known to the officer as they went to the same church. The assailant was black, not sure about the officer, but now they aren't just threatening the cops, but their family members as well.

It is called common sense. Cop is walking up to a car, he has no idea who is in there and my assumption his senses are on alert. Cars are whizzing by, and he has a lot of information to process. Simply providing documentation in a way that would put that cop at ease is smart. Their apprehension is reduced and he might be in a better mood to overlook that I was over the speed limit. Talking to that person with respect is also a good call. Even better, no dumb excuses on why you were pulled over.

Cop: "Do you know why I pulled you over"?

Me: "I was over the speed limit. I wasn't paying attention and did not realize how fast I was going".

Or you can be belligerent and a pain in the ass. Honey vs. vinegar. Your call.

I agree with you 100% and that's what I would tell my (white) kids. Doesn't mean I deserve to die if I do it differently, though.

Should the cops be able to just beat the living daylights out of someone on the side of a street or pump 5 bullets into his chest and skull?
Not they shouldn't and they are not.

Yep, Hilary's 13 point lead in jeopardy. Just imagine how much further she can fall as the R's file for a new investigation 5 minutes after the last failed one is over. They can't give a hearing to a Supreme Court nominee but they have time to file and conduct partisan investigation after investigation. Used to have a smidge of respect for Paul Ryan. Now that's zero.

It certainly has saved me some money on occasion. Could have been given a $300 fine recently, but instead a $50 ticket because I did exactly what you described.

Police are trained to fear the worst and hope for the best when pulling someone over. Unfortunately, if they do it in reverse, it's too late. This is an interesting video that shows what they are talking about:

                            http://hiddenamericans.com/culture/b...ng-simulation/

That being said, we need to acknowledge that some police officers target minorities. Just like every other profession out there, they have their biases and it affects their lives. Not good at all.

I was once pulled over years ago driving in bare feet. As I scrambled to find my flip-flops under my seat, the cop starts screaming at me. All he could see was me rustling around and to him...I'm hiding something or even worse...arming myself. How does he know?

After we clear the air, he says "wouldn't it be better to get a ticket for driving in bare feet vs. being shot? How do I know what you are doing?"

And, yes, I also acknowledge that since I am white, it was quickly resolved without incident...that incident could've been worse with different players. But, the point is the same: Understand that the person pulling you over doesn't know you or your intentions.

Yes they do. Examples every day all across this country. There are upper middle class black men in tears just thinking about what happens to THEM in their daily lives and the lives of their children.

COP: Do you mind if I search your car?

ME: Yes I do sir as I am exercising my Constitutional rights that require a warrant or probably cause to search my property.

COP: Do you have something to hide?

ME: I cannot answer that question as I am exercising my right against self incrimination.

(what happens next here?????) The vast majority of americans do not know that the above scenario is their right YET this scenario will PISS off a majority of cops.

Your next move is to ask if you are free to go or if you are being detained or arrested. The only RIGHT police have is to ask for Identification. PERIOD. Typically what happens is that the police will call for back up or look for the slightest reason to invoke probable cause.

The other recommended action is to hide your cellphone as the law is tending towards cell phones not being protected by requiring a warrant to search.
