Another poster. I have a question for you if you are in law enforcement. I just read that the shooter in Kansas used an assault rifle. He had a long criminal history, included us of a concealed fireman at age 18. Perhaps unfortunate that Kansas doesn't require a permit for a long gun or pistol and does not require registration of firearms. Perhaps I'm confusing you with someone else in this board but conservatives here all seem to be strong 2nd amendment advocates.

How do you square this?

I understand you guys can't see the big picture from the trenches. That's why our laws enshrine civilian leadership keeping military, police, etc on a leash. It's not binary, they can protect and serve without the rest of the crap. They just need to be kept at heel.

I have loved ones that have been victims of crime. My wife was robbed and assaulted while we were dating in another east coast city. I didn't go jihad against entire classes of people as a result.

I have not, but the question remains how will proposed gun laws keep people from getting illegal guns to do illegal deeds when our inner cities are flush with illegal weapons?
