Top Players in other countries don’t waste time playing high school soccer either. They go straight to academies, if they are the real deal.

And academies pick up the tab, including education.

For MLS academies, ie Revs, it’s free. It’s different for girls. Nobody cares or wants to invest. Other countries are even less enthused about girls soccer than here.

A poor kid in another country would give anything to be a poor kid in this country. Not making a soccer team, is a 3rd world problem.

You obviously have never been poor.Or you would know, being poor sucks no matter what country you lived in.

How many scholarships does sss give each year?
Would they scholarship AP/DA players? Just curious.

There are different levels of poor. And if you think that a person is “poor” just because they can’t afford the luxury of club soccer, compared to a truly poor person in a 3rd world country, shame on you.

As it pertains to extra curricular activities .Financial constraints do play a role in club soccer enrollment and opportunities even if you have the talent.

I would say the NT players play for free off the backs of all the other expenses SSS charges. My favorite is how much she charges for tournaments per player.

This was the dumbest move LL could have time. She had a great thing going with being the best in Maple and then being very strong at all age groups in the NPL especially playing against a few clubs second teams. Now she will be seen for what she really is, a used car salesman that plays three Card Monty with players. She will now not be able to use players on multiple teams, one game per weekend and no other soccer outside the DA. None of her DA players will be able to play in showcase tournaments with other teams. Her elite teams will be exposed for below average and will get crushed in the NPL if allowed to play and this is before players leave for Scorpions or Stars ECNL so they can play high school. I would not be surprised if FCUSA or even Liverpool pick up several strong players when it is all said and done. Her coaching staff at the older ages have no clue how to coach their way out of a paper bag. They just live off the curtails of the NT players playing on the best two teams 03 and 01. Look at all the rest of their teams. I don’t know how their 05 and down are because I don’t have a daughter near their age group.

Yeah, $125-$225 per player, per tournament. Might as well just burn your money.

That's a nice profit center! Charging that per player more than covers your entrance fees and coach travel expenses.

Not true. Many European countries, Canada, Japan, NK, China and even a few LA countries like Brazil have really been investing in their women's programs. It's just a more limited reach then men's soccer is. That's why USSF wanted to up what we were doing here to stay ahead of the curve. Problem is what they executed won't help and it was executed poorly.
