Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThat’s the rumor. Apparently NEFC pulling out, so GDA replacing with SSS. But at same time, there is a rumor that all of DA is folding because MLS is dropping it. So who the hell knows at this point.

And next year no U13 DA, then U14 the following.
Eventually it’ll just be the MLS DA for the HS ages with insane travel demands and non-MLS DA with asinine travel costs & distances and sub-par competition, favoring ECNL and the HS Season.
There will be no girls DA in two years (2020/21).

First how in the world can Select get a GDA just looking at their coaching staff? Its pretty thin they would have to bring in coaches which would mean paying which LL I'm sure doesn't want to do.
I think Select is fine where they are. They draw a good amount of talent there without being in one of the two leagues. If you were LL why would you jump into something that doesn't seem to stable? It wouldn't be for the money their price is almost the same as the other top clubs. Also why would you risk losing some players to scorpions because of the no high school rule?

LL had successful teams back when they were playing in maple. Nothing has changed except the burnout rate. The league means nothing nowadays and the majority of kids want to play HS. SSS should just keep doing what they do best.
