“Low academic D1 schools” like the 2025 commits so far? Columbia, BC, Clemson, Providence, Northeastern, Maryland, UVM, etc. I wouldn’t call any of those low academic. Not to mention the alumni networks at these bigger schools. High academic D3 is great, but you don’t have to pretend that the majority of D1 schools are crappy academically to make yourself feel better.
It was a compliment to the kids going to solid D3 schools instead of a hypothetical player going to some random low academic D1 school.

Yes, done lots of hiring. Athletes are great. Military background is even better, but those are far behind real world experience & educational pedigree. I’d place most of the Tufts & MIT type applicants over kids from any of the big state schools in the Northeast.

Three months into recruiting season and its crickets on the receiving end of communications for the kid. I guess it's time to downshift the target pool. (Its not for lack of exposure. ECNL starter, 2 years of showcases, 2 trips to nationals, good highlight videos and emails). I guess something just isn't clicking with the college coaches. Thoughts?
