These degrees will be worth more over the player’s lifetime than low academic D1 schools. Employers won’t care if you played D1 sports. It’s mind boggling how many parents ignore this.

“Low academic D1 schools” like the 2025 commits so far? Columbia, BC, Clemson, Providence, Northeastern, Maryland, UVM, etc. I wouldn’t call any of those low academic. Not to mention the alumni networks at these bigger schools. High academic D3 is great, but you don’t have to pretend that the majority of D1 schools are crappy academically to make yourself feel better.

Have you hired anyone? We specifically look for athletes given their experience, commitment and ability to connect with local clients.

Did I say anything about the current D1 commits on this thread? Anything at all? Can you read?

It was a compliment to the kids going to solid D3 schools instead of a hypothetical player going to some random low academic D1 school.

Yes, done lots of hiring. Athletes are great. Military background is even better, but those are far behind real world experience & educational pedigree. I’d place most of the Tufts & MIT type applicants over kids from any of the big state schools in the Northeast.

How many MA kids typically commit to random low academic D1 schools? Not many (if any at all). Over the past couple of years, I see a decent amount of Ivy, strong academic P5 (Duke, UNC, Virginia, etc), lots of Patriot League, and other strong academic mid-majors. As for the comment about “big state schools in the Northeast”—a kid graduating from Isenberg at UMass will have some pretty good options. And your post makes it sound like every kid playing soccer is an incredibly strong student—just like non-athletes, kids that play college soccer represent a wide range of academic ability. If a kid is going to MIT or Hopkins, they are probably in a major that would be incredibly difficult in D1 (pre-med with lots of labs, engineering, etc). No kid is turning down MIT to go to some random low academic D1 school. It doesn’t happen.

                Nonsensical. All of it.

I don’t have enough time or crayons to explain this to you.

I’ll explain to both of you bozos: it depends on the job.

Three months into recruiting season and its crickets on the receiving end of communications for the kid. I guess it's time to downshift the target pool. (Its not for lack of exposure. ECNL starter, 2 years of showcases, 2 trips to nationals, good highlight videos and emails). I guess something just isn't clicking with the college coaches. Thoughts?

College coaches are busy right now so it may not all be over, but she may have aimed too high. Time to revisit her targets and broaden her search NOW. She needs to have a new more appropriate list ready to contact in time before the first showcase.
