There is a rumor that the Aztec north coach and director told his teams last night that he is leaving and will be joining Stars. I’m betting that team will follow him.

Makes sense. I always see an entire team of players just replace the existing. Happens all the time....

Not the op and not a north parent but we know people there. Stars is a very big club with many teams and locations. Do you really think half the team will leave and the other half will stay?? No chance. Entire teams leaving happens once a year in New England.

I suspect you are involved with their new management and truthfully you all are the delusion ones. Your 2007 team is gone. Your 2009 team won’t exist or won’t be able to field a competitive team. If the guy who coaches the 2010 and 2011 teams also leaves which is almost a certainty then your entire club above the age of 12 will collapse. The Aztec parents on this forum have been warning you for months. Maybe you should have listened to them.

Stars gets more commitments than any other club in New England. Stars has more connections than most clubs in the country. It’s hard to leave behind all of the scouts in Tynsboro but I’m betting they will survive.

I know absolutely nothing about the Aztec North team but a quick search shows they’ve handled the same team soundly before. When NEFC lost to Seacoast a couple weeks ago, it was accepted as normal since they had players at clinics. The same couldn’t possibly be true here? Or they couldn’t possibly have just had a bad game? Or injuries? We have to immediately go to crapping on teens?

Couldn’t care less what happens to a team I’ve never heard of and will probably never see play a game but the hypocrisy in this thread is unreal.

If I had a kid on the 2007 “sky blue” team, I’d be making some calls this morning and signing up for some tryouts.

No worries, their spots on Sky Blue are safe. No one wants to play in ECRL2, especially not on Sky Blue. Teams and clubs are already bailing and it's only halfway into the first season.

The 2007 Stars Blue RL team has really struggled, they could use a major reboot. But I can't see many players thinking it's worth the trek to Lancaster and committing to the RL travel schedule. The few that are going to play in college will be able to play for the same schools without that step.

Also, kids on teams really do like to stay together. We've seen it again and again.

Yes, there are certainly players who would rather play with friends than getting outside their comfort zone. It's not easy to do that, so many just stick to what they know and there's comfort in that. Like a warm hug on a cold morning from yo mommy.

Idiotic clubs are “bailing” because they expected something higher quality season 1? Like the Bayside team who changes leagues annually? Can’t take that seriously.

The Aztec girls will follow their coach. They don’t have a lot of options. Their Aztec team will be gone and there aren’t a lot of 2007 options. If he goes to ECRL2, as you still ignorantly call it, then they’ll go too. It is what it is. Not a lot of options left. They’ll finish up senior/junior year, a couple will go on to play college soccer at D3, and the rest will hopefully have some good memories and a love for the game. Not the worst outcome, despite what TS anonymous posters spew.
