I have to comment on this ridiculous thread. I’ve seen many studs playing well small sided that completely fall apart on the big field. Stay humble mom. Your little Mia just might end up the bottom of the roster at some point.

Love all the people who come on here to crap all over the thread because they are bored with no updates to the threads they care about. Have an idea start some conversation on that thread or start your own. No one just stumbles upon talking-soccer so they are obviously looking for the site and just can’t find anywhere to add positive value

The girls 2007 thread
This thread has 2 separate groups:
Those who want to talk about the age group and those who don't which explains why some brag and others want to focus on enjoying the experience. Why is it not alrightto talk about good teams/players but still think the way NEP allows ID clinics/tryouts/practicing with other teams is not the right way to do things. We are really talking about 4-5 weeks difference, what is the rush?

If players come in and are as good, or even better, during trainings now this is a good thing. You have a larger roster, more likely to get a full-session in, and everyone plays better knowing someone is there to potentially take their spot.
The are, apparently, the best MA has to offer so this should all be welcomed. Any team wants another good player and wants them on as soon as they can. It makes the team better, and weakens the opposition by keeping them away. This is all a good thing and helps the competitive atmosphere.
Those who feel differently just in the wrong league. And, to be clear...that's a-ok. This is a great sport and there's a spot for all abilities, whether mom thinks so or not.

This thread is hilarious. Nothing but parents who are full of insecurities. Yes, you should be worried about your daughters spot being taken. It’s u12. Some of the best players in the state will eventually make their way to replace your precious daughters. Promise you that. Enjoy the ride. Look at your roster now. I’m 2-3 years it will look very different.

Also, at 11-12 years old there's lots of "real deals" that have all but disappeared by 15. Come back and talk real deals when they start high school

So, I'll ask...is it OK to make comments about the skill level and ability of other players and teams if they are positive? But, not if they are negative?

These kids don't even play 11v11 yet. Between that and physical development, things will change for this group during the next couple of years. That is a fact you can count on.

Here is the truth about young soccer studs versus older soccer studs... About 80% will continue to play at the top level, and be top players. Most top players are top players from a young age. Very few turn into a top player at a U15 player. However, that being said, there is the other 20% of young top players that are used to being youth soccer stars, will begin to struggle with the bigger field, puberty catching all of the girls up with each other, or wreaking havoc in their own bodies. Those girls likely drop down a level or two by U14-U15. That is harder on parents I think. The other big transition that causes parents dismay, is those stud strikers at U10-U12 all of a sudden struggle to score once they hit the bigger field and bigger, faster defenses. It is never fun for the parents when those players get benched, or moved out of the forward position altogether, and replaced by a better finisher. They do a lot of bitching about the coach on the sideline. Trust me, I suffered listening to it for an entire season.
