Poor parenting. It’s like going to a restaurant and getting hepatitis A but saying at least the food was free.

Again, the Revs is the top of the pyramid in New England for boys. Of course you will get parents and players who are dissatisfied and leave or get cut. That's what happens the further up you go: fewer spots, fewer favorites, more competition for play time and such. How do you think the Pro Youth Academies in Europe operate? You think it is all skittle-crapping unicorns and rainbows for those families? You know how many get cut?

Bottom line, take everything you read on this thread and on TS as suspect...

I would strongly encourage parents to watch a great documentary on the AJAX Academy.
Only 1 kid went from U12 to U19... and he didn't become pro.
They don't care about the kids... they just work on finding a future pro.
As much as you hate the Revs, they are not even close to that...

In what world are Revs the top of the pyramid in New England for boys. Anyone with any sense is going elsewhere: Bolts, NEFC, GPS. For college, its not a close call. And even if you want to go pro, the track record is far better elsewhere.

Now they'll be beaten up more regularly by the MLS clubs. They can't pad their record beating up on Seacoast and FCW

Yes the Ajax academy is much worse than the Revs. Rolffl.

I would be optimistic about the Revs future because of Bruce Arena. He has been very impressive so far. He didn't hesitate to sit Fagundez and Caldwell regardless of their past with the DA. He will demand more from the Academy and will probably compel Kraft to comply.

Kraft might give him what he wants with the first time. Kraft won't spend a nickel more on the academy teams. The first team makes him a little money, DA does not.

I'm guessing you are projecting anger that should be directed at yourself. You realize you are an idiot (albeit a 'wishful thinking' one) for thinking your son was destined for great things in soccer because he made the Revs. You then realized the Revs were a poor academy and your son isn't as good as you hoped. And you are not quite ready to let go of the anger you have built up for Kraft and the Revs academy.

I haven't been a giant fan of Arena in the past but he has turned around the Revs in little time. Someone demanding such excellence from the MLS team is not going to stand for a mediocre academy. Look for things to change.

Arena could care less about homegrowns, he wants proven commodities that can make an immediate impact. He won’t be here long enough for a DA 2004 to see the field. He’s gone in 3-4 years. Guys like him are successful because they focus on aspects of the club most likely to generate dividends on the field. In his mind he may as well paint the locker room rather than invest time and money on the DA.

Kraft may have wanted to bring him for just that - turn the first team around so Kraft can sell at a higher price
