You sound like a U15 parent. You’ll learn. If you’re still around at U19 come back and let us know how all those secret meetings planned out.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThere are no longer ways around these rules. A college coach can now tell your club coach they are interested in you but that’s about it. Prior to June 15th after your sophomore year college coaches can no longer make meaningful “contact” with a recruit, their parents or their coach. They can’t talk to you if you happen to call the office and catch them at their desk. Those days are over, even for girls. Boys soccer isn’t really a revenue generator at even the top schools. Soccer isn’t a headcount sport, therefore it’s not vital to the schools bottom line. No college coach is going to risk NCAA sanctions, and his job, by speaking to a freshman or sophomore boy that hasn’t taken the ACT/SAT and can’t yet demonstrate they’ll be able to gain admission, handle the rigors of college AND be a meaningful contributor on the soccer field.

Very few are even getting looks as freshmen let alone discussions.

Another player just unexpectedly let the coaches know he’s headed to an ISL school. It’s easy to walk away when there’s no financial commitment to the Revs.
