Are you saying the training at Revs is not good enough and the Pro projects coaches are better??

It’s not the staff because the actual coaching is limited. My kid did it and liked it because it was usually high level and higher speed of play. It’s all about money in the end but I’m sure there are several that don’t pay. It’s high level but because money is involved there will always be B level players. Other similar options exist ...

Sell the Revs!
besides being piss-poor academy, this "expert" points out what second fiddle - or no fiddle for that matter - the revs are to Boston, New England, Krafts or anyone. THey are totally irrelevant. Only reason Kraft got them was they were cheap - and - envy - he didn't want any other owner to have a soccer stadium to compete with foxboro... why they ever sank $35 M into grass fields only in NE shows you how ignorant they are. Not a single bubble for consistent winter training.
Talent exists everywhere. Look at Germany, Netherlands, heck, Finland!... it's not a matter of the locale it's about bringing the clientele and they have that locked down with their ridiculous hick turf football-ville no one can get to or out of. A complete anti-soccer atmosphere.

It’s clear listening to the posters here that they are so focused on high school-aged soccer that they don’t understand how pro teams work. There is no requirement that all local talent is scooped up by the local pro franchise. It doesn’t happen in baseball, football, basketball, etc. so why expect it in soccer? If talent goes elsewhere maybe it’s because it’s a better fit for that player and pro club. Maybe they need someone for a specific position or skill set. It’s not a reflection that the local pro club is bad. Conversely, maybe the Revs can’t find the talent they need locally and search nationally like every other team.
One poster tried to make the correlation between money spent and quality, and again it shows a lack of understanding of how pro teams work. The market dictates what you can afford. So if a NYC, LA, or Houston team where there is a local market potential of millions of fans spends more than Revs where the market is far smaller, that’s economics and not an indicator the team is being cheap or is less committed.
Long story short, it would be really rare for homegrowns to make up the entire roster of a pro team, whether it’s the first, second, or academy team. Most clubs only have a few and that’s the same for the Revs.

The Revs are the ones that do the calling. Poaching is easier than coaching. That’s why they finally broke down and started taking waiver players from the ISL. It was the only way to poach local kids.
