[QUOTE=Unregistered;2198268]That's one of the worst beatdowns I've seen. Given me a few players from bay state league, ISL, a couple others - oh, and some real coaching.

Let's start with some fundamentals first - Coaching, player selection, practicing the mandated 4/week. Make some progress, then you can start talking about a residential program.

I agree with all of that apart from player selection. They do have the best players, they just don’t develop them into an effective team.

            MLS should be residential

            this is the real issue.

Revs are loaded with college bound kids getting adequate 3 days of training.

They need to be residential with either online or other sufficient schooling to train at least 3-4 hours a day. Not 3 hours per week. Atlanta, Phili, LAG, DCU ... are residential and you see the results.

Want to play soccer in college ?- great! play for GPS, Bolts or Seacoast. MLS should only accept Residential players by 15 and they should only play other academies like the pros.

Finally - they need to train and play overseas, or Central America True soccer talent is still located elsewhere and it's a fantasy to believe the competition is enough here. Its just not.

              Who pays for that?

They absolutely DO NOT have the best players. I can rattle off at least 6 or 7 names from Bolts, Seacoast and Prep/Club that they have overlooked. And that's just the 01's and 02's.
Wanna talk about the 99's and 00's?

Since relegation is not an issue, MLS teams don't need to be competitive (they don't get removed by losing - or winning for that matter) so they don't need to develop talent.

This direction would drain most of the talent from the Revs.
