Rds programs at most MLS clubs are largely to help pay for DA. Clubs find a few players there but most come from elsewhere. Revs, Red Bulls etc are always looking and will conduct "tryouts" just not always in the traditional sense. So no, most RDS participants will not make the team. If parents simply expect some good extra training then that's what it's for. If they think their kid will be magically discovered they are fools.

That might be true, but more boys than I expected have found their way from RDS to the Revs. I am sure there are kids on my kids Revs team that wouldn't be there without repeated exposure at RDS. My advice would be if you can afford it and your kid has a reasonable shot at the Revs then do RDS.

ANother way to block out kids who can't afford it. Oh, and take at look at the churn on the Revs rosters over the years. They happily bring in players developed at other clubs. If you want training, great. But RDS is anything but a necessity for a good player.

This is true. These kids look relatively good compared to the rest of RDS so the Revs mistake them for being superstars. Plus it's easier than actually scouting and it makes them money.
