Not the poster - Not really sure it's about too many clubs (maybe in MA/NH it should only be two). Most don't overlap too much geographically (example Revs aren't getting a lot of CT players, just an occasional one). Once you get down into Beachside territory and into NY there probably are too many, but of course Red Bulls and N"YCFC do great getting talent because they're MLS. I think Revs can get sufficient talent; they just can't do anything with it

There are some NE kids playing in other countries and in other DA programs in the US. Without commenting on parenting issues previously discussed, just the fact that players are looking for other training says something.

Everyone who's been involved within the soccer circles know that the Revs U17 team simply does not have the top 2001's and 2002's in the region. It's simply a three pronged approach to securing the best players available. 1.) Scouting 2.) Identification and 3.) Recruiting.
The top players are not congregating in one place. They are on a mix of the three DA teams. FC Boston, Seacoast and Revs. They need to be identified and recruited onto one path, one team, the MLS team, and from there developed into professionals for the first team. A very simple approach that the Revs haven't got right.

and.....that is another component that the Revs need to contend with. EDUCATION. New England has some of the best Prep schools in the country. Concessions have to made with top players who play half the season on Prep schools. Not saying all of them, just the top 1% of their respective age groups. The ones that have been recruited by these schools for soccer.

All the other MLS Academy teams seem to understand that concept, even within geographically competing DA markets. It's really about giving a sh*t, and the Revs clearly do not.

I think you're wrong, I think they DO care, they just are not competent. Starting with the so- called Youth Director Scales. He's had ample time, time to move on from him.

They need a residential academy to retain those players and to allow more time for training.

I disagree, I don’t want my kid in the classroom with a bunch of soccer players. Just like I wouldn’t want him on the soccer field with a bunch of ISL snowflakes.

They need to get a local private school to agree to take players for 1/2 days of school and train the rest. Hockey programs in the US do it. They don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Look at successful programs in other sports. Kids get a good education and more time training.
