Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWhatever happened to the Rev's so-called "alliances" with local clubs? Looking at the Revs 2004 and 2005 rosters, they are dominated by GPS and NEFC players (9 apiece) with 5 from Bayside. No other club has more than 2 players over those two years. So is it fair to say that the "alliances" were little more than marketing nonsense? Doesn't seem like going to an "alliance" club is any better pathway than not doing so.
Either way, the Revs should pick the players that best fit what they are looking for, regardless of whether they are from alliance clubs, or not. Comparing the number of GPS & NEFC kids selected to the number from smaller clubs isn't that meaningful either unless you break it down to per capita numbers.
If you want your to kid to get onto the Revs youth teams, get them into the club that you feel has the best training regardless of affiliation and get them to RDS sessions.

What the Revs have done in the past is identified players thru their alliance and non-alliance and invite the players to RDS. Through RDS they selected the players best meet their needs.
