Whatever happened to the Rev's so-called "alliances" with local clubs? Looking at the Revs 2004 and 2005 rosters, they are dominated by GPS and NEFC players (9 apiece) with 5 from Bayside. No other club has more than 2 players over those two years. So is it fair to say that the "alliances" were little more than marketing nonsense? Doesn't seem like going to an "alliance" club is any better pathway than not doing so.

It's well known that Revs got tired of the constant noise from the parents of one of the "alliance" clubs.

I don't think that being in an alliance club is much of an advantage, if at all. They haven't seemed to make much of an effort to look at the players so far this season. I assume that some players will get looks later on in the season. You can get more visibility by doing RDS than you can from being in an alliance club, it seems.

Either way, the Revs should pick the players that best fit what they are looking for, regardless of whether they are from alliance clubs, or not. Comparing the number of GPS & NEFC kids selected to the number from smaller clubs isn't that meaningful either unless you break it down to per capita numbers.

If you want your to kid to get onto the Revs youth teams, get them into the club that you feel has the best training regardless of affiliation and get them to RDS sessions.

What the Revs have done in the past is identified players thru their alliance and non-alliance and invite the players to RDS. Through RDS they selected the players best meet their needs.

Gee, "thru their alliance and non-alliance", A and not A = all. But this is inaccurate, Revs have figured out which clubs tolerate loud mouth as$holes (see this thread for several thousand examples) and have opted to slam the door in those clubs faces.

That is only true in your fantasy world. They will continue to pick the players that they feel play at the level that they are looking for. If they had slammed the door, we would be talking about zero players instead of less than other clubs.

This is probably true, but I bet they are paying a lot more attention to parent behavior on the sidelines now because of who they have let in over the past few years. All the U12 DA games are recorded, so they can easily watch these (and most likely do anyway to evaluate players) and can hear which parents are the loudmouths screaming at their kids and coaching from the sidelines.

All DA games are recorded and you will hear zero parent coaching from the sidelines.

The Valeo younger boys more than held their own and are now way underrepresented now on Revs. They can thank a few Newton loudmouths for bashing the Revs incessantly here. No serious club is going to tolerate that kind of behavior.
