Ontario basically has the same population as Massachusetts but look what they've accomplished with their Academy. Perhaps their richer talent pool is due to the diversity of Canada or perhaps it's the fact that ownership is fully committed. They don't even play in the USSDA. They compete in local Ontario leagues. Revs Academy is a joke in comparison.
Superior coaching and facilities. Keep in mind, Toronto has a harsh climate but still overcoming those constraints. Fire the Revs Youth Director, he's inept.

Partly agree with what you're saying although Ontario has twice the number of registered youth soccer players (both male and female) than Mass. But yes, agree that the Revs aren't taking their Academy very seriously and the coaching is no better than the level of town soccer volunteers.

Ok makes perfect sense. They did well at NTC last night. How did yours do?

Mine did his homework, thanks, and gets As, or at least grades that reflect the best of his abilities. I do realize how crucial the NTCs are though.....game changers.

I'm willing to bet neither of them ever lost to any of the dime a dozen crap GPS teams. Mate.

Talents wide the Revs DA teams are as good as any MLS DA. The problem is the quality of play are terrible. No concept of how the game and how it should be play. Watched their livestream and was appalled by the lack of organization, slowness of their game speed buildup and comfort with the ball. All I hear from the Monterrey side was coach yelling "Ripedo, ripedo" meaning play it quick. Team playing as a cohesive unit. Revs are totally opposite. Sad and shameless.
I watched the game. I think revs team DID play as a cohesive unit. The difference is the individual talent from Monterey was much higher -every Monterey player was better on and off the ball. Is this the best New England has to offer or were these players just not ready to play that day?

Philadelphia Union beat Monterey 2-1 two days prior (I didn't see it so can't comment on the game).

I guess you and I must not be watching the same game or our understanding of the game are too far apart. It is hard to beat a team when they are playing the entire game on your side of the field.

The fact that the ball spent more time on the revs side of the field is an effect not a cause. A team can play as a unit (cohesive) but still play terribly if the other team is better both on and off the ball. I didn't see one revs player try to do it all alone. The passing attempts and plays were attempted - Monterey read the plays better because they were just better individually and as a unit.

It's the coaching. The Ulittles are losing badly in Texas.

no it's not. did you listen to the monterey coaches yelling out incessantly during the match- very annoying I'm sure even for their players. Let them play! A little instruction and cheer leading here and there is fine but those coaches were out of control.

With Revs team I could tell what they were trying to do and it was all good stuff- but they could not do it well because the Monterrey players were just so good.

The U16's recovered nicely at the GA Cup. A respectable 2W 3L finish. Respectable for a sh*t
academy. Shows there's some talent there that overcomes the terrible coaching staff.

Monterrey players weren't all that good against their other opponents.
