Missed chances in the first half were key.) It can be tough playing against some of the non MLS teams in tournament soccer. Winning tournaments is primarily about disciplined defending, teamwork, intensity, taking that chance when it comes, and a dose of luck. See NCAA tourney.
The top MLS Academies likely had their top players in u17-u19 bracket playing with their affiliated USL or in a few cases first teams.

So you’ve posted 3,500 times bashing the Bolts on a Revs topic?

The Bolts actually won as many games with 2 teams in California as the Revs did with 3 teams.

Wrong. Three Valeo/exRevs kids are outplaying the Euro competition. One is at the top Euro academy and has a bright ($$$) future there. All you have to do is follow social media (that doesn’t include TS) for the latest updates. Fascinating to see if you’re truly a fan of American soccer players.

Someone please explain to Grandma that most of the content across social media is manufactured to make people believe things are better than they actually are.

Google is worth $750,000,000,000 for a reason. I can essentially find out everything about your life with a laptop and 60 minutes of free time.

I just Googled “PL Sporting Soccer.”

There is no mention of him after December 7th, 2018. No offense, I hope the kid is happy and having a great time, but this whole narrative about his success only exists in the minds of his parents here on TS. He’s eligible to play for the USMNT in his age group. He hasn’t been called in. He’s eligible for Portugal. He hasn’t been called in.

There are readily available articles about young U.S. players in Europe, just not about him.

Interesting-I never Googled them. My kids follow them on social media and show me posts.
But since there aren’t any articles about PL or the others, it must mean they aren’t good.

I bet you can make yourself look skinny and attractive on instagram, that doesn’t make it real.

And people show their true colors on TS.

I have no idea what might lead you to believe this. Our top 03 players will spend a majority of the season up with the 19’s. Our 04 players and the remaining 03 players are not a combination that inspires the type of confidence you’re espousing.

At least 65% of the current 17 team’s goals are moving up to U19 next year.

The #1 keeper moves up to the 19 team.

                            These are not encouraging developments.

I'll admit that I'm a rubbernecker who enjoys checking in on the insanity, but from reading the posts from time to time, I'm left wondering...why do some of the apparent parents care so much about the team's results? Everything else indicates that the Revs only care about individual players and if they'll turn or develop from all the great training into homegrown players. In some ways, I think the Krafts/Burns (or whoever replaced Burns) really cared if they had the ability to develop players. They just could catch a wide net, throw boys into the mix and see if anyone emerged.

Even for the first team, it's clear that no one cared about results given how long Heaps and Freidel hung around. I'm not even convinced Arena will do anything except drag the team into excusable mediocrity which really shouldn't be that difficult in a capped league.

We care because we invest a great deal of our time into this.

Hours upon hours in traffic driving to Foxboro or traveling to distant matches, disrupting the lives of our family members for this opportunity, those are just some of the reasons.

Winning is important because it qualifies the team for the playoffs, or top flights in the showcases. That translates into scouting by D1 coaches. That scouting can potentially lead to scholarships.
