The fact that they're going to abroad to find better talent than what they can find here - despite over ten years of DA - should be a concern to all.
A bit of competition might shake things up. The Revs mediocrity only reflects a wider problem with DA, college soccer and the MLS.

Half of the MLS draft last year was internationals

Great, all they need now is relegation and promotion. And join with the MX league to inject some passion.

Oh but they do! I’ll bet you have no clue how many Americans are playing in Europe.

Yes, many more than most people realize, not just the kids in Portugal that some seem obsessed with. We know two players just from our small circle of acquaintances at our club who are now playing overseas.

Super. Feel free to post several stories of them being actively recruited by U.S. college coaches, landing is strong soccer programs and playing significant minutes.

Yes there a decent number and it's improved. But it's peanuts compared to the internationals playing here - either ones rejected by top clubs abroad, or soon to be retired international stars looking to cash in a few more years in the US. They are better than many US players.

Nobody cares but you and the crazy parents who ensured their kids are now ineligible to play in college.

                    College soccer is for losers.

Sorry if the concept of a demonstrable connection between a college education and higher lifetime wages makes you sleepy. By all means, pursue soccer and hamstring your child’s future.

Don't feed the troll. No one on this board has a kid that's going pro let alone going to make any decent money at it.

Why say something this stupid? You don't think that there is another Fagundez or Caldwell out there? It is quite likely that there is a parent posting here whose kid will end up with a homegrown contract given that there have been 3 in the very recent past.

My oldest daughter never played soccer. She graduated from a decent state flagship university 5 years ago. She earns more annually than either Fagundez or Caldwell. Please don't point to those two as success stories unless they can parlay their pro careers into a college head coaching job at a top soccer school. Hell, I'd rather my son become a State Trooper than be a Fagundez or Caldwell.
